christmas eve, my brothers and i open the one gift we got eachother, then we go to church. christmas morning we all open presents, my dad makes a nice breakfast, we go see a movie, have a big dinner, and then everyone leaves to go hang out with friends, etc etc.

edit: TSR, my family and i are going to see that aswell.

used to be halfsies here, with presents to and from my dad's family on Christmas Eve, then the ones from my mother's side on Christmas morning.

now it's just one on Christmas eve that I get to open, and my parents and I stay home Christmas eve and Christmas morning.

for real. I'd be so very disappointed if i didn't have anything to open on christmas day. I used to hate it when my parents would make us space it out through the whole day (you can open this one and that one now, save the rest), but it makes the whole experience last much longer.

I'm an only child and when I read that description of your Christmas I just want to hide somewhere where no one can find me. I think growing up alone ruined me for anything resembling a big family gathering. Far too many people for my taste, which makes my girlfriend completly nuts since she has a huge fucking extended family and they insist on holding these giant family partys which I do anything to get out of.

I think it's great that people have gatherings such as these, I just wish that I could enjoy stuff like that myself.

Back when he was posting he posted like a weird combination of mcc (without the annoying anime shit) and MA17, but then he stopped. And everyone totally forgot he existed. it was a piercings thread, i was contributing (ive got my lip pierced) to the thread in a helpful manner, and i mentioned at the end of my post that i, personally, wasnt a fan of monroes.

I think my favourite piece of forum history was the "Eric Norbert" saga. Why is that not in the Archives?

I can't quite remember all the details, but It was someone (A mod? Perhaps Apotheosis or Raijin?) looking for a forumer they had to send something to, but they only had the name "Eric Norbert". So the forumers did the most logical thing possible and made Norbert a god, made out of gold with snakes for arms (who dual wielded pistols)

Then there was a split in the religion when it was revealed he might be called "Norberg", some split off to the Norberg sect of the religion.

Good Times. I think it might have even been a sticky at the time.

On the subject of favorite mods:

My three favorites have always been Raijin, mcc and Captain K. Raijin because, like someone said earlier in the thread, he's always been the "forumer's mod", mcc because he's frankly one of the most stand-up guys here and is just a badass, and Captain K because he let out a big, Kool-Aid Man "OH YEAH!" for me on his radio show.

Sure, I could say things about the mods I don't like, or how the vast majority of them have been the most notorious and infamous of forumers who suddenly found themselves with the ability to post with far less conscience and consequence, but that would just be counterproductive.

And say what you will, G&T really does have the best mods here. I don't know if any of you have ever found the courage to venture beyond our safe haven here, but there are some huge dickheads modding some of the other forums. We've had our share of drama and bullshit, but we're still pretty lucky.

On the subject of holiday festivites:

We're actually breaking tradition this year. It's always been my immediate family and my paternal grandparents here at our house for gift exchanging and breakfast. However, this year, we're going over to my grandparents' house tomorrow night for a small party with some of the relatives on my dad's side.

Then, we're going to do a small Christmas thing here with just the three of us on Monday morning. My dad has to work from 7am to 6pm on Christmas day, so I'll probably just spend the day here at the house with my sister, playing around with our gifts.
