    I forgot about the 4th of July yesterday. I was summoned to skateboard 8 hours all day by some visiting friends and then to a sailboat to experience the fireworks show from the water with some night sailing. I worked today and will be doing the same tomorrow. Maybe I can finish tonight or tomorrow night. Deadline? You're call. I don't know if my entry could stand up to all these great entries!

    Scos- You have got to finish that, it is awesome!

    AoB- I agree about theseperate humor/serious votes. I tend to go for the serious drawings unless a humorous one is excellent quality.

    So, I'm a complete tool - I happily start off at my Ra / Freja thing and some time into I realize that Ra is in fact not depicted at as a retarded eagle, but rather as a hawk. Smooth move, Visti.

    Loki's probably more famous for the whole gender-bending multi-legged horse thing. Similarly, Odin is a bit more famous for Raven-related stuff than Eagle if that helps?

    Separately, the eagle in your drawing (which isn't retarded, btw) reminds me of Sam the Eagle from the Muppet Show for some reason.

    yes yes
    crackedpaint texture found online (by Wimble - thank you Wimble -- or was it Flay? Err, one of them.)
    then just shrunken and glued together over the whole thing randomly.. then a big eraser with soft edges.. got rid of a few places.. then applied "Soft Lighting" and took down the opacity
    it did what i wanted it to do, i will give it that
