Think of Wheel of Fortune, specifically the bonus round. You get all the common letters for free to give you a hint; we need to try for hints, not just brute-forcing it.
Because we don't have letter hints right now, we can only try to make predictions about the phrase itself.
Ok, Im going to bed. I can't think like this. Someone make a speadsheet with our letters and post as sig please.
And Im bad at wheel of fortune bonus round. I can do the normal ones but I messed up at the final round.

i might change it from a super-grudge to a normal grudge, but thats all i can offer.
the following words are good to begin to understand:
-word 3 (few three letter words)
-word 4 (2 letter word? need it)
-word 5 (word with a comma, will give us a good clue)
starting at the start is not the right choice.
letter 18 then. either that or the second letter of the third word, or the first letter of the fourth word. those are the logical starting points.

Gumpy is the plotting against the Phallaverse, it's so obvious!
Letter 1 is pretty worthless. We may as well just crack open a dictionary and start looking at all the four letter words that begin with that letter. I'd say letter 2 is a better choice than letter 1. In general, I like knowing the middle of a word because it lets me eliminate the possible letters than can begin and end a word. For example, if the second letter of a word is 't', then I know that the first letter is a vowel, or 's'.

First word, first letter would be great.
If we go for letter #10 that will help us figure out what that word is.
For example: if that letter turns out to be "H", the word is more than likely "THE".
Then we should go for Letter12 or Letter13.
After that, we can fill things in. But getting those two words will help. ALOT.
Hence my belief that we need Letter10 first.
