This is 'Wilma' a Fedex 727 that was flown into Fort Lauderdale (FLL). She was too big to legally land at North Perry Airport (10 miles away) so they took off her wings and moved her for a school. She was moved at 6:00AM and this is a good example of why early morning light is a pain.
This is coming into the intersection of Griffin Road and 441 for anything wanting to know.
Go west on Hollywood Blvd heading under the Florida Turnpike.

'Course, most airline pilots get their flying time in the air force before becoming professional pilots, so I can see why it would cross over.
The FedEx name was 'Amber' and the school it was going to renamed it 'Wilma' which was a hurricane that paid us a visit a few years ago.

She was one of the just over 1,800 727s built between 1963 and 1984, and one of the 70 that Fed-Ex operated.

When her long-lasting service to Fed-Ex ended, she was taken by a company called World Wide Aircraft Recovery when the bird was donated to Broward Community College in Florida.
This is the flight deck of Wilma (formerly Amber), where students at Broward's Aviation Training Program will learn to fly heavy metal.
