!Oh god yes a Nerissa (and narvinye?) Phalla, bring it on
Although I'm not much of a chatter on the boards (or in phalla's), I'm very active at designing and running these games. Dunno why, but I really enjoy it
Thankfully, I've got Nerissa to help me out with assumptions/protocols around here, and as a really good idea/mechanic sounding board. She's also obsessive enough to be locked into the game once its running, so you guys get nearly instant feedback

Basically, I'm the marketing department. :P
Seriously, though, narvinye is actually the mastermind behind these games, I'm just the public face we put on them (for better or for worse).
Player list updated to here. We've got over 40 now, but if there is enough interest, we might consider scaling it up to 60, I'm not sure if we can balance it properly between those two points (i.e. more than 40 but less than 60), though. In any case, any Phalla needs reserves, so don't be shy about continuing to sign up.
We're working on the details of the OP (and tweaking scalability) now, should have it up in a couple of hours. Not sure yet if we'll get PMs out tonight or tomorrow night.
Is the Council made up of the entire player base? If not, how many people are on the council? Is it a fixed number, or a percentage of the player base?

The council is the entire player base. When the shit hit the fan, only the council was awakened. The remainder of the colonists are still in cold-sleep and will not be involved in the game.

I'm very interested in this, I just don't know the rules. And I would prefer the "genetic colonists" to be Synthetics instead if possible; it's keeping more in theme with the first two films.

The logic for that choice goes like this:
The science of the that universe is obviously up to genetically modifying human-beings (think Alien Resurrection), yet it does not seem to be used (probably more because it wasn't needed by the script, rather than any well thought out reasoning, but work with me here).
Now Synthetics ARE used, and nearly perfected, and accepted parts of the world, and given the overall experience with them, not likely at all to be a cohesive group of saboteurs. Maybe one in a million goes haywire.
So genetically augmented humans would seem to be REALLY taboo, but possible, which gives us a perfect group of antagonists.
If we can get to 60, we will move the number of groups from 4 to 6...and if not, we'll parcel out everyone into groups of 4, so no-one's missing out yet...

We can deal properly with any multiple of 4, so we'll set our cutoff appropriately when PMs go out.
OP updated with background, rules / mechanics posted in post #3
You have the rest of today and tomorrow for clarifications before PMs go out.

You might get to be an alien host...
Somehow, I don't think that's what you had in mind, though.

In short, the Genies stay.
