I can't believe I slept through a twenty page monty hall fiasco
here's my take on it (I am right):
It gets a lot easier to understand if you stop thinking about the "remove a goat and then pick if you want to switch" thing as a gameshow mechanic
the end result of switching: if you had earlier picked a goat it is now a car
if you had earlier picked a car it is now a goat
if I had 2 goats and a car and told you to blindly pick one
and then I asked you if you wanted to shoot it with my magic goat<-->car gun, there's a 2/3 chance that would benefit you
try it with cards, when I didn't get it my brother and I did 30 trials and it was like 21:9 in favor of switching
