I'm opposed to them possibly taking [CHAT] away from me. I read the rest of the forums, but hardly ever bother to post there. Little to add. But much to read.
To be fair SE++ is theoretically there for all our [chat]ting needs and we don't really need a [chat] thread here to skim DnD. That said, I understand where you're coming from.

SE++ is theoretically there but I like there being one thread. Also, I can't see any reason to take it away.
Fuck you guys. These boards are a perfect democracy. Everyone is entitled to vote except for those disqualified by reason of age or not being Cardboard Tube.

I've heard it argued that [chat] threads reduce people participating in the other threads of a particular forum. If you have people coming to a forum just for the [chat] thread there, what's the point?
I'd argue that those same people would just stick to SE++ anyway, or leave entirely, if the [chat] threads were taken away from the other forums.

D&D is consistently the third most populated forum though, and we have what like 20-30 people in chat at one time mostly. So generally most of the people in D&D are just in the debate threads.
the inherent difference about SE++ is that it is not an on-topic forum. It is impossible to talk with those people (and I use the term in the loosest possible sense) about anything for more than 2 posts. As soon as the discussion would be getting even remotely interesting in D&D they just change the subject.

Also its full of assholes, me and lud are unique over here. Over there we are just lesser assholes to the omega assholes bred over there from assholia.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
when G&T chat got disbanded, I went to SE++ but they didn't like the new kids much, so I came here
See, why did they kill G&T chat?
I think the reason (in addition to it being strangely insular) was that a lot of stuff that belonged in other threads would get posted in the chat thread, and would get repeatedly brought up throughout the day as people wandered over to kotaku or whatever. They didn't know it had already been discussed to death a few hours prior because nobody "catches up" on chat threads.

They are a much more annoying kind of asshole as well: children.
No, they are idiots. They hate people who aren't ADHD addled children.
Yup, nobody posts there just to shoot the shit. They aren't joking around and having a good time, or anything. They're deadly serious, all of the time.
[CHAT] occasionally has debate as well as discourse. SE does not.
They pretend to. Especially a few people like Pip. But over there it is perfectly acceptable to just veer the conversation onto the subject of wangs and their many uses whenever one feels to be at a disadvantage in a debate.

Yeah, but he doesn't have the common courtesy to give reach arounds, from what I hear.

I will if you will.

Loki often disguises himself as an old woman or an animal.
Tube's current Avatar is the old witch from Snow White with a Hedgehog face shopped in.
An old woman, and an animal.
I rest my case.
To be fair, so are we.

They take the insular nature of chat to an entire forum.

if so, I will try to go to SE++
they don't like new people much, though

Alright I'm going to go for this.

What is most frightening though is that SE++ is basically Something Awful Goons Lite.
That something worse than SE++ exists is mind-breaking.
And yeah, Skippy is right, when G&T got disbanded I remember threads where they literally said GO AWAY G&T.
Yet another reason to hate SE++. :P
:?
There is nothing remotely scary about SE++

Hahaha
You are doing it right Arch!
SE++ has no problem with new people, as long as they aren't dumb fucks

Yeah, no, that's wrong, but, okay, have fun being wrong?
I've dropped in randomly into SE++ all the time. I don't post like them and I don't know their memes. I don't get any flak.
But you are right, [chat] you are all so civilized and superior.
We should just have all of SE++ join the [chat] thread so we can accuse them all of being alts and try to figure out who they really are.
If you're new, you don't know the way SE++ works, therefore you're an idiot.
They are a much more annoying kind of asshole as well: children.

You're a moron Lud.
They just expect you to have read the rules thread and comprehended it.
Just as they expect you to do the same for D&D or G&T or any of the subforums.
They pretend to. Especially a few people like Pip. But over there it is perfectly acceptable to just veer the conversation onto the subject of wangs and their many uses whenever one feels to be at a disadvantage in a debate.
