The last 3D work that I built. It had a lot of parts (built in Hexagon, the buggiest modeler on the planet) and was primarily an exercise in using depth of field.
Manon, you anywhere near Oxford? I found this guy on a record label down there (Fat Possum Records). He died not long ago but I knew I'd heard him before. He was on the soundtrack for Black Snake Moan. R.L. Burnside
That's some good stuff there. Mississippi puts out some fairly excellent musicians. I live a few hours south of Oxford myself now, but I'm from out of Memphis, an hour or so north of there.
James (Jimbo) Mathus is one of my favorite musicians from herei. He was one of the founders of the Squirrel Nut Zippers back in the 90s (which was definitely rad), but the Southern influence is much more evident in his recent stuff.
Got new brushes that an artist named Tidwell is making with Mack. Liked them so much I ordered a second set. You gotta love brushes that have brass knuckles printed on the handles.
The glovebox is flat black which means I'll have to throw a little gray or white behind him or lose all my contour line work. I think you're right about adding a little color on the ears, though. This is the guy's car. I'll probably eventually do the sides and back door, also.
I want it so bad. He's retired and hasn't done anything to it in a year or so. I could probably get it from him but I know myself well enough to know it would be a bottomless money hole for me. Not to mention the time involved. At this point I'll just be happy to do some painting on it.
rad. I don't dig the tiny amount of white in the A-hole, seems like it should be either more or not at all. The same goes for the white spot in the shadow under the top right arm of the T.
Fixed the white areas in letters and removed the magic penis hat so now it looks more like a brush AND NOT A PENIS.
(But thanks, that's why this forum is so useful)
now it looks like a tongue. if you want it to look like a brush, you might want the curve from the handle to continue to the brush tip. right now, if you continue following the curve from the handle through the eye, you come out to the right of the bristles, if that makes sense.

I don't know why it just dawned on me that you were fairly close by haha.
how are you saving these?

that depends though, is the grey of his flesh the same tone as the glovebox it's going on or is it different?
I think it's supposed to be an eyeball......with a penis shaped hat.
But it's not a penis. Of course, now every time I look at it it will be a penis.
