As much as I want New Vegas to clean up the little problems that Fallout 3 had, even if it's just more of the same, I'll still probably pick up a copy.
What I'm saying is that I hope they make the violent deaths better and that I can shoot people in the eyes again.
Fallout 3 would have been 10 to 15% percent better if only I could blind people with bullets.
yes
called shots on eyes/groin were the best part of the original 2
'You hit the guard in the groin. She takes it like a man, that is to say it hurts.'
i just want an ending that doesn't suck
that's all i want
Well, Bethesda didn't develop this one. Main story line is just one of those things they've never been good at.
morrowind had a pretty good one, but yeah, that's generally true. oblivion's was trash. shivering isle was actually pretty solid, but it's an expansion pack.

I'm pretty sure crippling the head had the same effect in Fallout 3.

This might be the start of Obsidian becoming one of those legendary companies. Alpha Protocol is to drop this year, as well as New Vegas (I think I read it was a 2010 release). I am hoping they are not too buggy, and that they sell well.
Alpha Protocol shouldn't be buggy, it's been finished for awhile now (so they say) and are just waiting to release it.
Well I think I know what the second one does, it's from the same guy who made an MMM mod in Oblivion, right? Essentially gives every creature different stats and personalities and looks?
oh man I wanna see what the deal is with the solar tower
executin' dudes by exploding their heads in the heat
I am imagining the text in that image being narrated by one of those smarmy-voiced jerks who do commentary with terrible puns for home video shows
I am also imagining it being accompanied by some sort of wacky sound effect
probably a slide whistle

I should grab some of these mods and play through it for real this time. I got to a point and then moved computers and didn't feel like starting over again or recovering the save I'd backed up since it had been so long at that point.
I tried a few months ago but then stopped for some reason. I think because of how badly my computer was overheating and I hadn't figured it out yet
I get way, way too into this game every time I install it.
I must not be allowed near it for my own good.
My conversation skills become reduced to 'uh-huh' and 'yeah' whenever I'm playing
and I don't even realize it
One of the guys in my apartment complex mentioned he had started playing it, and asked if he should create any of the craftable weapons. Some point after I launched into an explanation of most of the weapons and their specific strength's and weakness's, I think I blacked out.
The same guy now closes his conversations with what weapon he is is going after that day.

nah not even close, they could still hit you pretty accurately
I also wish that more games allowed you to craft ammunition. It's strange that Resident Evil 3 is the only example that I can ever think of that has it as a gameplay feature.

Nah, it looked like an annoying quirky indy comedy and it didn't get enough get reviews for me to risk it. Though it does have Tom Waits as the mayor of pergitory, so odds are I'll get around to it one of these days.
Also, apparently The Book of Eli has a cameo by Waits, because of course it does.

I know! I mean, I understand that modelling head explosions are a lot more costly and time consuming with polygons, but perfection takes time, damnit!
I didn't find any of the crafted weapons very useful. Rockit launcher is hilarious, shooting teddy bears at fools and shit.. but who wants to wander around the battlefield picking up their damn ammo after every fight..
Lincoln's Repeater was by far my favorite. Followed by Vengeance, but ammo for that was a bitch if you didn't just plain cheat with the console.

That was a real turning point for my guy in Fallout 2

The RTS mod is pretty neat. Get to build your own settlement.
eh they have the basics, some more time and better recording and I think they could be good
one of them is in a band called Kvlt 45 which is an excellent name

this, aside from a good ending, is the only thing i thought fallout really needed
i mean, everything is made of scraps anyway! just let me collect and make my own shanty!
