i wish there was a way to get all party members right from the get go, and not have them broken into groups depending on how far you are.
also that the scanning mini-game wouldnt be so soul crushing, even after the upgrades

holy shit
I just met
Fist in lower afterlife, complaining that I had fucked his business to hell and gone and how it was sooooo great that I had nothing better to do between my planet- and galaxy-saving to come along and fuck up a man's semi-legitimate business
I wish I could have reminded him that the other option was to just shoot him in the fucking face
When I got ME1, not long after it came out, I got to the Citadel and was running around doing quests for people because, you know, if someone gives you a quest, you gotta do it, right?
Well, I got bored and stopped playing. If I had toughed it out for another hour, I would have gotten to all the awesome, and would have seen how the game just keeps getting better and better.
Initially, I was going to play through just the main part so I could get to ME2, but now I am trying to take in everything I can.

On my first run, I met
Helena Blake there instead.

I always tell people to ignore the Citadel sidequests at first, they are more rewarding if you come back and do them later after you explore the galaxy for a bit

don't you miss out on some of them if you progress past a certain point in the galaxy quests?
i didn't mind the Citadel all that much because it was basically like KOTOR's Taris quests.

So I don't think the OP is completely accurate.
