I had to put a couple of settings to off because they created graphical glitches with my setup. Apart from that it runs pretty well and looks even better in person.
I intend to keep ahead of Helloween as much as possible so I can snicker to myself as I watch him approach particular places.

It's kind of standard practice at this point, man. Don't worry though, I'm sure they won't give you any warning beforehand.

Ah-haaaaaa...haaaaa. Yes, those were good times.
Well, for us anyway. Speaking of which, you may want to brace yourself for the next set.
This would be more effective if more people actually played Cryostasis, but you work with what you've got.
So as not to keep this a complete waste of a spoiler, did anybody else ever find a use for the flare gun? Manual says it distracts and damages monsters, but I never noticed anything substantial. The only use I found for it was to make an enemy easier to see.

To be fair, you were playing a ten year old game. It was a lot more likely that more people had played it by this point than Cryostasis that just came out... a few months ago I think?

It was released on December 5th, 2008 in the CIS, February 27, 2009 in Europe and April 20, 2009 in North America (source: wikipedia)
And yeah, pity most of us don't know much to spoiler
Well damn, now I'm going to have to look up when the hell I watched the Penumbra LP, because I swear it was near the end of that that I remembered people talking about this 'upcoming' Cryostasis game.
Helloween had a few choices for his last LP, some of which were SS2 (which he ended up choosing due to the insistence of the forum, regardless of the fact that we've HAD a SS2 LP before :P) and Cryostasis.
I recently watched the LP of this game, on the SA archives site. I thought this game was pretty cool overall, but about the ending:
I thought it was a big let down. It didn't really make sense to me in the context of all of the things that were leading up to it. And it was literally deus ex machina. Lets take all the creepy shit that has been happening and chuck a god in, which you have to fight.
Despite that, the game does have a good atmosphere, and I thought the graphics were fantastic.
I was just commenting on when I remembered hearing about Cryostasis 'coming out', unrelated to Helloween other than it was near the end of when I was watching the Penumbra Lets Play.

I thought it went off the rails somewhat, but I still quite liked it. Not the best use of metaphor I've ever come across -
as far as I remember it with changing the last mental echo you're pretty much turning back time, so now you have to get TIME HIMSELF to TURN BACK DO YOU SEE WHAT I DID THERE etc., etc.
- but it was fairly well set up and the final fight was pretty fun
once I'd worked out what the hell I was supposed to be doing.
All in all if you must finish your game with
an old-school boss fight
I'd much rather this than, say,
Bioshock.
Eight Rooks on
<AtlusParker> Sorry I'm playing Pokemon and vomiting at the same time so I'm not following the conversation in a linear fashion.
woohoo, i become less prone to the jump scares
that means more concentration on the commentary, which is excellent.
i suspect the scientist's beard as well as the icicles will be mentioned pretty often from now on... like ladders, only less scary or deadly. for you at least. the zombies don't like the beard at all.

You asked why there was Cryostasis talk after Penumbra. I'm saying that he's been considering Cryostasis for a while now.

I love Arctic settings like this in general, seems well done so far for sure, promises to be an interesting LP.
this was great because if you were at all paying attention you saw it coming before hell did..

Read my book. (It has a robot in it.)
No, you see, he has to use his echo ability to help the deceased graduate as well.
I did. I am doing an honours year now.

New set filmed and uploading now. I'll have it released later tonight.

I think there are a few things missing from these sets.
1. MGS references.
2. Wimpering.
3. 'Mook cannons'.
4. Manlyness i.e. more Hair, less flair.
5. MGS ladder music.
6. Dennis Quaid.
7. C'thulhu.
Set 3 - Atlas Shrugged

Remind me Helloween. I did send you a copy of the Thing when I sent AvP2 right? Did you try it out at all yet?
And you claim to have run out of title ideas...
edit: John Zoidberg you monster. You sent him The Thing?
