And Apple is pissing more people off about that Flash thing. Damn...
Also, that new Sneak Peek feature in GMail sounds cool. Might play with it later tonight.
No cross-compilers is BULLSHIT and has a lot more far-reaching implications than just being assholes to Adobe re: Flash.
I don't know too much about it honestly, I've just read a little about some of the developer backlash.
I just specified the flash thing because their new CS5 is out in 4 days and Apple just now announced the compiling thing. That's pretty fucking harsh right there, since they've been touting that functionality for months now.
What it comes down to is that Adobe wants Flash to get popular with devs who want to target everything.
Then developers aren't targeting iPhones or androids or symbian or windows phones, they're targeting the Flash platform, which lets Adobe smear all the different phones and OSes (devs can only target the common features of everything) into one mediocre blob, and Apple et al lose out because nothing has different apps with different features than anything else, you're just out to by the cheapest Adobe Flash end-point.
But in blocking Flash, Apple has also also blocked off C# and Microsoft's app initiative and any hopes of bundling up Java apps, etc. I know they want control but this is a bit much. They were trying to control at content and functional levels, but now they are going after devs on technical levels too. This is not going to end well. They can't expect people to put up with this.
Maybe they will for now but once a viable alternate platform comes out, developers are going to run like hell. Just look at what happens in the console world all the time.

Apple is not surprisingly uninterested in ceding all competitive advantage and becoming a vendor for Adobe's crapass, lazy platform
So they're both dicks

Will's the guy that says "Come on man, one more hit won't kill you." Then next thing you know, it's 6 am and you have a dead hooker and a mostly snorted 8 ball in your bed.
1.5 oz Poire Williams
1 oz st germain
.5 oz canton ginger liqueur
charged water
build in tall glass with ice, top with charged water
maybe change st germain for belle de brillet
pretty good warm-weather drink guys
1 oz of germain? It's not too sweet?
I love germain, but lately I've been finding that it's hard to use without making something taste like candy.
i'm using a pretty large tall glass, so there's a lot of charged water
it's more a sweet than boozy highball, but not bad. the first one i mixed used a decent amount of lemon juice too. mostly the pear + ginger is what i was looking for
Most kids hate having their parents join in on a discussion on Facebook, but one 16-year-old in Arkansas hates it so much he has filed suit against his mother charging her with harassment. From the article: "An Arkadelphia mother is charged with harassment for making entries on her son's Facebook page. Denise New's 16-year-old son filed charges against her last month and requested a no-contact order after he claims she posted slanderous entries about him on the social networking site. New says she was just trying to monitor what he was posting."
... wow...
Re: Apple/Adobe - But having a potentially universal platform for making apps across more than one phone OS would be a great idea, to me. Smaller developers who don't have the resources to build 4 different versions of one app isn't very feasible so wouldn't it encourage the app market for phones?

Elendil, I have questions for you.
1. Is there a reason to play through a second time with the same toon?
2. If I start a second toon, do I need to resource gather?
3. If 2 is answered in the affirmative, is there a cheat?

From what I've read the kid lives with his grandparents, and for a court ordered reason. So...yeah, probably not the most well functioning family.

it would do that in roughly the same way Java encouraged desktop apps that ran on everything

1. Make different decisions and play a different class.
2. You get more to start with for having a completed save.
3. If you're on PC, yeah, there's a save editor.

Except Java GUIs were disgusting and needed platform hacks to work right all the time. But even so, I like the occasional java app I run. I like it more than not having a Mac version at all.
Flash at least runs and looks the same across platforms.

You cannot comprehend the amount of jealousy that seethes inside of me.
Isn't that the point?
Savor the flavor!
however, it mixes TERRIBLY with rye
it just proves the rule that dry vermouth goes with clear liquors, rosso vermouth with brown ones
that was a bit of a naan-sequiter

which isn't even particularly good!
i think maybe i just don't like dry vermouth?

Boo this man
I quite like the dolin' on it's own. And i like it with gin, because it gives it a nice sweetness and floral element.
But man does it not blend well with rye.
