It's an organic drawing program, pioneered by Andrew Jones (or so I believe.) Anywho, it creates a lot of chaos in image form. Think rorschach ink blot tests. It's a free program, feel free to try it out.
I've just basically picked out something I like from all the mess, tweaked it and painted over the shapes in photoshop.
Prox- I think her butts a little oddly spaced apart, the tail would sort of go over the glutes alittle not like spread them. Its making her stance wide.
Her feet also got kinda pudgy but not defined in the last versions.
I'm probably going to do some normal wolf anatomy studies myself

Does anyone want to throw out some random shit for me to make icons of?

Remember, if in an rpg setting, those icons would likely be at something more like this size:
At which, I think 'nightvision' and 'prey drive' don't have enough visual contrast to stand out. Especial prey drive. With that one, you might just show the bunny and remove the wolf entirely.
Hmm good point wasser, its been a while since I played a real RPG so I was thinking or a slightly bigger size than was probably realistic. I'll be sure to try and shrink em down a few times through the process. Some of the others could use some better contrast too.
I haven't been here in ages, well I have just not in the posting capacity. My abilities have not improved in the least. But I do have a scanner so thats a plus I guess.
Side not Iruka I think 'nightvision' is very readable when small
Concerning kewop, I dont think that someone who can get Zbrush to get to look that good will have any real interest in sculptris
This right here. I know Zbrush pretty well and I've seen some speed sculpt vids of Sculptris and I don't see a reason to use it other than to just see what's up with it. I highly doubt it's 1/10th of the program Zbrush is honestly, but I would never really know the truth of that until I try it. I would try it out, but honestly I rather spend that hour or two sculpting in Zbrush or modeling something in Max.
Until someone posts something done in Sculptris that can't be done in Zbrush/Mudbox that blows my mind, I probably won't even try it out for a while.
that's not to say Zbrush is heaven on earth. I refer to Zbrush as "the best and worst program ever". There's some hyperbole to that, but it's true to me in some ways.

I want to assume that it's the worst program ever due to the interface? I tried the trial of that thing and it melted my brain sideways...and I've used maya a decent bit.

naw, interface is awesome to me. It's the worse because some things make no sense and it's broken as shit. My beef is Pixologic is too busy adding shit to Zbrush no one asked for like being able to unwrap UVs and Animation tools... WTF? Fix all the broken crap people actually need/want to use.

What is this, exactly? (And I don't mean lead-to-gold)

I doodled something that looked like a drawing for once so I thought I'd post it here.

What did I do now?
You've gotten a lot better at straight up drawing than I remember you being
Those are pretty slick
are you the one on the left?
That's cool. I like how flat it looks.
Moss, I showed your AoD skull shirt to my friend (a big Bruce Campbell fan); I think he's gonna buy one.
Iruka, I love the icons and the moth.
Also starting this:

I tried to spend a maximum of about an hour on each of the painted bits of my entry.
All great stuff (I voted for you)

First I tried Zbrush, but the techie stuff kept me from doing anything half decent
Sculptris doesnt probably have as much to offer to proffesional/expert modelers, but its a lot easier to use for people who are just trying it.
Concerning kewop, I dont think that someone who can get Zbrush to get to look that good will have any real interest in sculptris
These were my first two attemps at sculptris
