I told some friends, they looked it up... my game it glitched.
Apparently, if you destroy the transmitter with grenades, the game glitches out and thinks the transmitter never blew up, becoming an invisible transmitter. I didn't intentionally destroy it with nades, I had tossed some nades at the 3 krogans in that room, I guess one of them made it back to the transmitter :X
SO I'm stuck either with an uncompleted assignment or I have to load from an old save file. Lame.
Huh. So that's how that happened. I must have run into the same bug (invisible transmitter at 0 health, unable to complete assignment).
If you've otherwise finished everything else...I'd say screw it and let it go.
