I'd post some stuff ... but I'm new to this whole forums shindig. How do I go about posting images?
(should this question be going in the Questions/Discussions/Tutorials thread?)
You have to host your pictures on something like photobucket. From there you can get the url for it. Something like http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/FUBAR/Really%20Bad%20Art/asdfif697e.jpg. After you have that, you copy/paste it between [img.][/img]. (remove the . from the first img tag.) And it'll show up. Like below.
There's also a button called "Insert Image" where you just put in the url and it'll put the image tags around it.

(For the benefit of the guy, not trying to one-up you!)
ImageShack.us works great, too. Click the "i" next to your image and choose the 'Direct' link for posting. It's all preference though.
I've only ever used photobucket, so wasn't sure if imageshack had anything to just give you the code. Just went with basic "find the url!" to be safe. (photobucket will also just give you the complete image code.)

Whats a lurker.
I like looking at the draws and doddles but never post anything myself as I don't really draw, just a designer.
You guys have some cool things! Mustang's right...I have no idea why you guys are a-feared of posting. That's what the Doodle thread is there for! ...for things you don't want/need to make a thread for, essentially. It's probably the least-intimidating place in the AC (next to the chat thread, I guess :P).
Basically what I'm saying is poast moar.

Well for me, I think its a fear of commitment. I would have keep a certain level of badassness and not post everything thing that falls out of my head.
Hey AC, I've been peeping through the bushes here, for many many years. Only started posting and doing non-lurkey activities thanks to SSF4. Anyways in my spare time I like to make video game/cartoon 3d fanart:
Do you do that professionally? Because those are pretty great.
I don't know why so many good artists lurk when they could be getting unconditional and constant adoration by everyone.
edit: I found your website. And then I was the lurkers.
Thanks! But nope not professional. Just something I've been dabbling in for years now. It would be cool to do it as a job but I have no schooling or fundamental skills. And there's a lot of things I just don't know how to do.
Fugitive- Thanks I've always been a fan of your work here.
Loving the gentlemanly headcrab and the comic from Stillwater. Genius.
So guys, I'm a long time lurker, one of my new years resolutions for 2010 was to start up drawing and have my own art thread on the AC. I'm scared and not there yet but thankfully, this thread exists...
So here, have loads of my art:
Various portrait sketches:
Practice, practice, practice. Hopefully there is some progress.
I'm still sketching, but I decided to give canvas painting a shot, it was tricky...
When my brothers and I were small, we made movies a lot, here are screen shots from our film 'Resident Evil Again' made about 10 years ago, which I used as references to paint a canvas for my brother's 22nd birthday;
I played Wesker, the one in the shades :P
Here's what I came up with:
Took about a week in total, I dislike painting grass now...
And here, have a bonus painting of my Mum's cat;

Cool love the resident evil painting. Great idea for a gift :^:
Another lurker here. I don't really draw that often and most of it is not really worth looking at, but I do read all your words and ogle all your arts from a distance.
Those are some really nice models, keep up the great work. I would say to add a few more textures to the rocks and the walrus snail but that's pretty much just it. I'm getting a starwars feel from the toad, was it intentional?
I don't think I've ever posted in the AC threads but I lurk around here a lot. ^^
I really love low-poly low-res textures. It's like old pixel art, making the most out of what little there is to work with. Is there more of these wonders to see??

That is indeed awesome.

Thanks for all the warm responses! Maybe I'll have the courage to start up a new thread. ....and keep it updated too. =D
Mabelma: Heh, I can see the star wars reference, intentional it was not.
Linespider: Holy shit! You have an incredible style, I'm envious. Really solid pieces you have there. I use Maya, Mudbox, Photoshop, and Marmoset to render.
e2db: I have more low poly stuff but it's for work, not sure what I can show off. It's mostly guns and stuff, nothing toooo exciting. Nonetheless, thank you for your comments. I love your work, you're not professional!??? You can totally get a job in the industry with your skills.

I always want to bounce ideas around here but I always chicken out.
so here goes.
these are kinda old. I will make an effort to post more here in the AC.

So here's a self portrait I did some time ago.
Aaand here's a little comic I doodled up a while ago too.
A Lurker thread was a great idea. It's the only place I feel brave enough to show my work!
Basically what I'm saying is poast moar.
Hahaha, this is great! :^:
Also I totally remember that Alicia Keyes.

But maybe thats a good thing.

Hilarious!
Lurk on my lurking lurkers!

Nice stuff! It would probably be cool to have more 3d artists around here.

Your art style is great, I love it. Very traditional. It's something you don't normally see on teh intarwebz
Here's the last thing I drew.
1156 triangles, 512x512 maps
5000ish triangles, 1024x1024 maps, still WIP
1000 triangles (all together), 2048 maps
Edit: added some rocks.
(On a side note, anyone with a handy link for image adding how-to in this forum?)
It's easy...just put your image URL (like, http://www.google.com/image.jpg) in between these two tags.
[img][/img]
(or just click on the yellow+gray button above the text box when you're making a post, and it will have you put the URL in there).
(spoilered for tall)
Also the arrow pointing to "me" on that t-rex is amazing for some reason I cannot put into words :^:

Anyways, here's a early concept of a model I'm working on for a friend.
That is indeed awesome.
