i guess i do need to eventually entertain where i plan to live when i become a professional
you have time to work that out
probably focus more on where you want to go to school first
true
money's also an issue
i might have to go local community for a few years
that's the smart move if you can't find a scholarship of some sort. there's no great reason pay extra just to take prereqs from an expensive university, really.
unless you figure you're gonna get fucked when you try to transfer credits
(you will almost certainly get fucked when you try to transfer credits)
Yeah definitely do your research ahead of time and make it clear with your advisors what you want to do
I did that with my CC, graduated with a two year, lost only two classes, one of which I tested out of, and I didn't pay a dime in tuition the entire time
It helps if you can find a community college that has some sort of relationship or understanding with a local four year. Those credits almost always transfer easier
Also if you're planning on pursuing some sort of graduate degree, don't sweat where you get your bachelors. Do whatever's most convenient for the BA, and then think long and hard on graduate school. That is the advice I've been given and it seems really solid.

I think I will probably end up in Boston when I eventually get out of the army
My sister lives here and I've got an in at UMB (I'm friends with a professor on the board of admissions, and even if they're no longer on that board when I'm ready for university I'll need all the help I can get getting into a good university with no high school diploma)
I've got a lot of old friends in Los Angeles but half of them are in jail and most of the rest of them frankly are not people I should be associating with. And as much as I would love to go to the U of C in LA I don't think University of California would want me.
Plus my mother lives in Los Angeles. If I move back there I'm not sure how long I'd be able to keep her from finding out.
boston is a pretty good town. after six years here some of its worse aspects are starting to grate on me a little, but on the whole i still like living here a lot. it's probably my favorite place i've ever lived.
Yeah I can dig it. I still miss Santa Monica, though. I mean this place is nice but I had, like, a passionate love affair with that city.

I'm actually re-thinking whether I want to live in a city. I think living an hour or two away from a city would be cool but the idea of living in the middle of nowhere has become more appealing to me.

the internet access in the middle of nowhere is usually shit
Growing up is when you no longer regret the silly stuff you did as a youth
TRUE FACT
i uh
i'm not really sure about this
Haha, I think it's fine to blush or something like that when you think back on your excesses, but. Generally speaking I am a big fan of liking yourself first and foremost, and even the silly and sometimes really stupid stuff you did as a kid shaped you and made you into who you are.
Regretting that sort of seems like regretting yourself. Looking back on your past with understanding and acceptance is important, I think, especially in teaching you how to understand other people and their faults. Turning up your nose and going 'ugh I was such an idiot' is selling yourself short.

I use to live in the suburbs with no near by neighbors. It creeped me out as a kid. I don't think I could ever do it again.
I guess horror movies really get to me.

I have Time Warner right now. It's pretty fast and recently they've fixed the reliability issues.

I grew up in a pretty rural area, nearest neighbor had a historical cemetery. Never really creeped me out. Being alone in the woods at 2 am was always kind of peaceful.

Kilroy has it right. It's pretty much the fucking worst. Hope you like messing around on the internet, playing video games, and drinking/getting high alone, because there's nothing else to fucking do.
