Actor Leslie Nielsen has passed away tonight at the age of 84. Nielsen is best remember for his roles in Airplane, the Naked Gun movies, Kentucky Fried Movie and generally being a comedian for his long career. His first role was all the way back in 1950 and he was in the middle of filming The Waterman Movie.
Oh, no. I don't normally get bothered by celebrity deaths and whatnot, but Nielsen was one of my foundations of entertainment, so this is pretty harsh for me.
I've been long overdue to get Police Squad and Naked Gun on DVD, but between this and Black Friday I think it's time to rectify that.
So earlier today I was joking about how Leslie Nielsen must be dead because of the scary movie movies... only to find out he died as I was making jokes. Now I feel awful.

I guess a Naked Gun marathon is in order.
At least he was with his family when he passed.

No matter what the guy was in his roles were always funny and I got a laugh. That awful Scary Movie? He was good. That awful space movie? He was good.
At least he lived long.

Chorus: IT'S AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT KIND OF DYING
I mean the guy even starred in Forbidden Planet!
Then I think of the movies I saw him in.
And I am happy.
Then I am sad.
I just giggled like a lunatic watching this. I've always loved this gag and I'm so glad you posted it in this thread.
RIP, Leslie.
