someone was saying how the current gen of consoles can't really be improved on and I was like WHAT
It's really sort of a "... OK, I have some blocks. Everything is square. Hmm"
Then an hour later you have plans for an expansive castle in your head and are delving into the crust of the earth.
Also, last night it rained on the server for a couple of hours real time, and the sound was super peaceful. Thunder, rain bouncing off the glass roof... it was very relaxing.

That may have been me. Like honestly graphics are at a point that I no longer really care if it has more polys anymore. I just want to see crazy design and art perspective. Like the amazing draw distance and design in dark souls making the world so epic.

I've become all about seeing signs of artistic passion. Games that have been phoned in make me cringe.
Also, Terraria seems to have more stuff for house-building than minecraft, honestly.
So many vanity items.

Terraria is such an incredibly good game. It is completely awesome for multiplayer too.

I haven't done multiplayer. I should finish my massive castle and set up its lava moats and such. But I am waiting for the next patch. So much cool stuff being added.

How do you get the multiplayer to work? I have had a bad experience with it so far but I hear using something called Hamauchi makes it work.
Hamachi!
Ya it's what we used in order to play it. You set up a virtual LAN over the internet, then use the ip you get from Hamachi and use it inside the game. Magically easy once you've tried it!

Terraria was the setup that got me playing Minecraft. It's interesting about Terraria having more items - I feel way more free to build in Minecraft than in Terraria because Minecraft is in 3D.
I also have more fun exploring in Minecraft because in Terraria, exploring is about constantly fighting mobs all the fucking time. Constantly.
Goddamn that made me stop playing, ultimately. I just didn't ever want to go to hell to farm anything because you were forever fighting. And not getting materials.

Yeah. People express great skepticism to me when I say that pretty much every game looks the same to me, but -- most titles now are just like academic realist painting.
How many expressive games have there been, especially in 3d?
I want a damned woodcut game or an impressionist game made of colored gaseous light blooms rather than just textures stretched across polygons over a skeleton.
That ps3 weeaboo strategy game at least had some cross-hatching for shading which is a good start.

I hate the imps because of their railgun shots. I like the game for its building.

Electric legos. I mean, we have a suburban railway on DK's server.
And the monsters destroy your legos. And you have to spend forever mining your lego blocks to use. And you can only build during the day.
you get used to it.
I am too

it's nice, but (on my computer, at least) it makes the game run worse
I use silkcraft, which also makes the game look nice and seems to improve its performance

All it needs is a title. ... 'Cat Scratch Fever' ... 'Pussyfootin' Around' ...
