Added location for Portland waypoint. It's on the MAX Red line and the interstate, and there's plenty of gas/food. Also, the schedule's up. Pretty much the same as last year's, with the addition of the Portland waypoint. Added the Extras section which will eventually contain printable directions to each waypoint, links to the store for magnets, &c.

Alrighty now, before I book a room from the table scraps left at the Red Lion and DoubleTree, I wanted to see if anyone on the WCST had an available space in their room, bag or bed. I prefer non-smoking if possible
Well, I am also from Sacramento, and I am planning on driving up with my cousin... I haven't booked a hotel room yet, but am planning to soon... I think we may have some room available in my car, if you would like to come with us..
Y'know, you're just the person I wanted to hear from!
Just drop me a PM with:
-first and last name
-the year and model of your car
-how many seats you have available
-if there's room for small bags for each person or large
-Any costs for riders (split gas, flat fee, firstborn child, etc.)
-Preferred method of contact
...and I'll add you to the list! It'll be great to have you along!

Well, just like that the trip shaped up a bit. We just got confirmation from Ben184, who will be driving from SoCal, and has one spot open in his 300zx.
Additionally, the SuperBus crew will be joining us in Tacoma. It's only for the last 50 miles or so, but you're free to transfer at the new Tacoma waypoint (location pending).
P.S. Try not to get mugged between your car and the bus. That's all I ask.
The one awsome thing that would be great about a trip like this, is the DS parties you could have from car to car. Organise a bit with some pictochat, then commence to throw down with some Mario Kart while going 100+ kph on the highway while your RL drivers try to stay within wireless range of eachother.
Im still not sure if Im going or not at this point... Im like in debt still from buying that Xbox 360, still dont have a job, and yet I registered for PAX and booked a room at the Paragon anyways.. Figured I can always cancel it if I cant find some money... I dont know... I really want to go, but god damn, I need a job.
Well, I got a job... Same place I worked at 2 years ago when I went on the supertrip, so hopfully getting the time off wont be a problem, since it wasnt last time, Its well enough in advance... Ill let you know as soon as I find out about that, granted, since I already have registered for PAX and booked a room, they better give me the time off I need..
So yeah, If I do go, Ill probably be taking my own car, unless someone else is going from SoCal that I can ride with... The only available car wont work for me, I know first hand from 2 years ago...heh. So either Ill have to find a ride down here, or find more drivers for my car. Im trying to get ahold of Brendan, as hes done the trip twice already, but he didnt respond on AIM earlier. His car gets better mileage then mine but mine(Although I measured mine earlier this week, getting 25.5mpg right now in mt 98 Ford Escort) holds more people and room for stuff, and Id rather rotate between more then 2 drivers. Ill figure something out I guess.
So I just made the trip to Seattle and back over the weekend, and discovered that the route through the heart of Portland is in fact quite a bit less crowded (and a bit shorter) than the one around. How would everyone feel about moving the waypoint to somewhere more central in the city?

Where was it before? And when are we planning to go through?
Okay, about that job I got... Ive worked one day so far, and now they wont give me a fucking schedule since then, and that was 9 days ago... So my current status has gone back to fucking unknown...
Anyone else from Southern California looking to go? So far only Ben has signed a ride up, so I was thinking of bringing my car since I wont fit in his... But, I have no friends here that want to go so I need more people to like help drive the thing, and help pay for gas...and stuff...

I'll go with you eelectrik . . . that is if you'd be willing to pick me up from my house as i will have no way of getting to the waypoint.
I am still looking for another person to ride along with myself and friend, so please feel free to fire me off an email! If I cannot secure a third person, I am looking into a rental for some uber mpg.
Also, since I am driving a ginormous truck (currently), I was planning on carrying lots of extra water and possibly the loot of a Costco run. Think about it...muffins, water, juice, etc...a lot less than restaurants or fast food on the way! Let me know if you are interested.
I will also be bringing some tools...just in case. But we won't need them because no one will be breaking down
Yeah, Im still looking for another person or two as well... Id like to make this trip as cheap as possible, and the least ammount of driving for each person as possible. So, any other So Cal people out there that are looking to drive up?
I am CONFIRMED as a Medford vehicle/cap'n. 3 spaces (backseat) to Eugene, then 2 the rest of the way from there. Very little trunk space as one passenger is flying from Seattle afterwards, but there will be 3 spaces for the trip back down because of that.
Yeah, I'll just need this info for the webpage, emailed to ctishman at mac dot com
Name
Car (Year, model and color for easy on-road recognition)
Space (number of seats, along with the number of small or large bags)
Costs (usually split of gas, occasionally some insane soul will do a flat rate)
Preferred contact method
Also, I need a cell phone number with area code, for a phone directory that will not be published online, but instead printed and given to the driver of each car for coordination.
I look forward to driving with you!

Im at the point where Im thinking Im not going to be able to make it again... Im still all kinds of broke, but my birthday is in august and Im hoping for enough cash to get something together, but Im also still only got one person Im supposed to be driving up with, which means more gas money for the both of us and more driving. So two weeks from now, I can see where Ill stand and post whether or not Ill actually be going... God damn I want to.
We road tested the bus this weekend. Ran out to Idaho for the Excellerator V car show at Silverwood water park. Man it was HOT.
Aside from the usual electrical fixes and some gas thieves who cut into my fuel lines things went OK, so we'll be joining you at the Tacoma rest stop in august. YAY!
There's a few pictures here. http://beta.zooomr.com/smartsets/11944@Z01/722
We hope to get some more when we collect the pics from our passengers.

We'd be going through around 11:15 and leaving about 11:30-11:45, depending on how fast P-town drivers are ready to go.

Oh god, I should've seen that. Heh. Next week are driver verifications, so we should have a full list after that.
I encourage all drivers to call their riders and confirm!
