I guess I should be? I grew in Idiot Country, so I guess I'm too numb to be shocked on that front.

    The party for legislating
    - against personal privacy
    - catastrophic economic policies
    - restrictions on freedom of speech
    - against the founding principles of the Framers

    . . . . that's the Conservative Party?

Maybe it's the "Little John" school of ironic naming system? The theory holds water when you look at their bill naming policy.

First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!

It's true, if Mitt Romney reversed several of his policies he could very well win.

Mitt Romney would certainly be a better candidate if he was a completely different person and held none of the beliefs he does now. Heck, if he was to become Bill Clinton and a Democrat I think I would vote for him.

If Romney was running on his record as Governor of Massachusetts I might consider voting for him, probably not against Obama, but still. Instead he's running as far as fuck away from that as fast as he can. Even if he retreats for the general, I have a long memory.

Re: The Republican dash to the far right being a clever plot to move the center to where they want it - Isn't Hanlon's Razor basically "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity" or something to that effect? I think it applies here.

Just out of the photo's border, Ann Romney's headshot contains a brooch adorned with the image of Ronald Reagan, himself beside a portrait of Nancy, standing in front of Las Meninas in the Prado.

a picture inside a picture inside a picture.

Why are you posting this? Its a blog entry. Its the blogger's only entry ever.

His bio is "I'm 25, I'm a graduate and I'm in a dead end job where I constantly dream of better things.....My aim is to write interesting pieces about politics on both sides of the Atlantic and anything else that takes my fancy. My degree may have been in Politics but if I'm being honest I didn't exactly pay much attention during my time at Uni so what I know and what I write comes from hours of reading newspaper's, magazines and a load online."

To be fair, aside from the political degree, that sounds a lot like my bio.

I have a new soccer blog The Minnow Tank. Reading it psychically kicks Sepp Blatter in the bean bag.

Well folks, it's on like Donkey Kong
@CatholicLeague: Lesbian Dem Hilary Rosen tells Ann Romney she never worked a day in her life. Unlike Rosen, who had to adopt kids, Ann raised 5 of her own.

I predict that this will be a perfect storm of hyperbole.

A sudden urge to bite something that's alive until it isn't alive anymore. Naw, it passed.

Edit: Thing is, it's alright for her to say "Me and my husband knows what it's like", but then you have to explain how you understand what's going on when you've never had a paid occupation. By trying to gussy Romney up, she decided to head into politics.

Yeah, this whole thing is bullshit. Just because Mitt Romney went to college doesn't mean that he knows what it's like to HAVE to work full time and still take loans like I am. The Ann Romney thing is the same.

    Dear Catholic League,

Thank you for making Hilary Rosen the good guy again. Also, thank you for pissing off adoptive parents and their children, not that Catholics are reliant on any goodwill from them.

    Sincerely,

    Dear Catholic League,

Thank you for making Hilary Rosen the good guy again. Also, thank you for coming out against adoption.

Catholics have been consistently against adoption by the gays. Remember when they threatened to shut down their adoption services if the city made them stop discriminating against gays?

"Yeah, take that Hilary Rosen! Your vagina never even HAD babies!"

So remember folks, "vaginally birthing = raising children" and when a lesbian adopts kids, it's not "work."

That's a pretty good argument FOR lesbian adoption, by that math.

I think the chicken ad is arguing that, rather than supporting government with our taxes, we should just kill and eat it.

Of course then we'd be out of chickens and starve to death.

Yeah, anti-Bush hate alone couldn't carry Kerry (PUN); Obama-hate won't polish Romney enough.

And while you can polish a turd, it doesn't remove the stink.

And that article by Hilary Rosen was pretty awesome.

I hope this hasn't been posted already, but isn't this dude one of the kinda-sorta possible veep picks for Mittens? Cuz he's a hoot.
House Republican Allen West: '78 to 81' Congressional Democrats Are Communists

Never one to shrink from controversy, Rep. Allen West, R-Fla., says he believes scores of his Democratic House colleagues are members of the Communist Party.

At a town hall meeting Tuesday in Palm City, Fla., the Tea Party-backed freshman was asked by a man in the audience: "What percentage of the American legislature do you think are card carrying Marxists or neo-Castro Socialists?"

West responded that he believed "there's about 78 to 81 members of the Democrat Party that are members of the Communist Party."

When asked to name them, he declined.

So, fellow Coastal elites, how much do we hate strong conservative women? Personally, I hate them much.

Now Rosen is apologizing. She better not be kow-towing. She has nothing to fear and she didn't act out of line.

Personally, I hope you don't hate them at all. Disagree with them, sure. Consider their ivory tower misguided nature harmful to the general public, yeah, of course. But actively hate? I don't see the point.

Meanwhile, the Gawker mole, Joe Muto, has supplied this, now under his real name because Fox News has already fired him.

Never mind the part where he goes on about Hannity and teleprompters. Note the video clip where Romney says "I don't do well on short sleep. I make mistakes."
