1602 was one of the comics I first read when I started seriously buying trades
I fucking love that series
1602 Nick Fury is my favorite Nick Fury
I think Secret Warriors Nick Fury is pretty close to that
the bit where he breaks into Osborne's bedroom and then manipulates him into gathering intelligence for him is great
Secret Warriors is definitely my second favorite
what pushes 1602 over for me is that he was the most important character in a story starring pretty much the entire Marvel Universe and the fact that he fit perfectly into 1602 with no real changes. Dude is a badass spy. They had those back then.
Plus look at him
he wears a fucking purple leather surcoat and makes it work

Definitely. And the scene where he gives the prisoner a knife and lets him stab him in the shoulder before absolutely wrecking his shit is so great.

Oh man he doesn't just let him do that
he takes of his shirt and throws him a sword
and he blocks the sword with his bare forearm and then headbutts him
Hey, what's the rules on movie talk? We gotta wait til it's out in the US?
Talk all you want just spoiler that shit
And indicate the level of spoilerage if you want to be a super cool guy (i.e. stuff from trailers, prerelease clips or interviews, or straight up 'I just saw the movie' stuff)
speaking of Spider-Man and dinosaurs, Astonishing Spider-Man and Wolverine #1 is free on Marvel's comics app this week. The final page has to be seen to be believed.
1602 was the book that really sold me on the marvel universe
i read it before i was at all familiar with superhero comics and despite being an alternate universe thing it's a fantastic introduction to the characters
they should do more elseworlds stuff! elseworlds stuff is always great

I just read this.
What the hell.
I don't need more books to read. But damn.
if it's the one i'm thinking of it was a mini that's finished and is simultaneously the most radical fucking thing and the saddest
Obvious why it was cut though. I spent half the video unsure if it really was a deleted scene. The movie manages to imply all this just fine and you hardly miss it.
The first scene is a mixed bag. The goblet and the kinder words between the brothers are nice but the snake are some what tacky. The lines are also a little to on the nose. Same with the scene introduction the warriors. The way the movie was eventually cut is much more natural.

Yeah the final cut of Thor is way better
but
"Never cared for spies."
I am rolling in laughter.

...because half of it was in the movie.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

Not necessary, but I would appreciate it.
No, it's necessary. Well, if you want to avoid infractions, anyway

i find him mildly irritating but i'm clearly too quick to draw conclusions about his work

blank are you me
because if you're me and i'm charles kinbote things are going to get confusing real quick
i actually like blank when he isnt wrong or mean re: comics
Dr. Strange, Daredevil, Nick Fury and Dr. Doom were perfect
and Peter David's Fantastick Four and Jeff Parker's Spider-Man minis were also really good!
Look at 1602 Namor!
suave as a motherfucker
I feel like it's pretty unfairly overlooked a lot, yeah

THE TALONS IN THE NIGHT
Yeah I dug that scene, but I barely remember the rest of the movie

Magneto as a member of the Spanish Inquisition was so damn good
although it was too bad Peter Parquagh never got to do much
you should read the 1602: Spider-Man mini
it is by Jeff Parker and he fights dinosaurs
Talk all you want just spoiler that shit
read that shit
Even when it is out probably spoiler stuff for at least the opening weekend within the U.S.
