I can/will bring something a little more substantial on the appetizer level since I'm local. We shouldn't ONLY have desserts, should we? Wait, don't answer that question.
That's great, thank you! I'm planning on checking out the barbecue facility on the rooftop and if it's reasonable, using that, but I won't know til we arrive.

I'll be grabbing whatever I can one Wednesday after I get to Seattle, so if there is anything else needed (paper plates etc?) then if you let me know I'll cheerfully go grab it
If there is still room, I'm interested. What time does it start? I won't be landing until 9pm.
I'm a novice whiskey drinker, so I'd only be bringing not quite cheap whiskey, jack or Jonnie Walker. But I know I love scotch, and I drink both straight or on the rocks.
Anyways, if there's no room that's fine.
- Biting's excellent! It's like kissing. Only there's a winner.

Oh I'm sorry, we're full! When we arrive if the terrace is big enough I'll message people on the waiting list - we've guesstimated it will hold 15 people, if it'll hold more that'll be great!

I'm in. I've got some lovely local whiskys that would be great for this kind of event. Unless is has to be single malt scotch. At which point, I'm still interested.

Thanks, zerzhul, I'm not v well and haven't checked here much - when I can sit at my pc I'll update the OP to show we're currently full. As soon as we arrive I'll update again if the terrace can hold more. I didn't think many people would be interested in joining us, it's lovely, but a shame we've had to stop at 15. Hopefully the terrace will be massive!

I would love to do some bacon wrapped scallops, but I will not have access to a kitchen. I think I'm probably going to go with some prosciutto wrapped cantelope, as it will be easier to prepare. I'm happy with anything covered in meat, really. Aside from that idea though, I'll just see what I can throw together when I get to Seattle.
O_O You are my favorite! I really appreciate the offer, and I will have a harder think about what I will want to bring now that I may have that option available. Seriously, my very least favorite thing about traveling is never having access to a proper kitchen, so you are awesome!

Um.... is "Proper" a requirement? Kidding. Let's take it offline, so PM me if you decide to swing by and we can work out the details.
I happened to find myself at one of the larger liquor stores in the area and since this event is coming up I thought I'd pick something up while I was there... after all even with a few tastes for quality control there should still be more than a half-bottle left in a few weeks. Right?
Anyway... in the interest of keeping a diverse drinking environment I thought I would declare what I (and LexiconGrrl) intend to bring.
Since RedHalo has already expressed an interest in bringing Balvenie, I decided to select a couple of bottles that would be new to me... Woodinville Whiskey Co is a local small distillery that had been selling moonshine (what they called White Dog Whiskey) up until the past few months. It could be good or it could be a bit dodgy.

To clarify, we're not bringing the moonshine. You'll thank us later.
i r dissapoint
erm no idea what I'll be bringing as it'll probably depend on whatever i can find in the 2 hours or so I have in the afternoon that day in seattle
(which includes finding liquor stores)
WARNING: the liquor sales laws in Washington just changed dramatically. Liquor is FUCKING EXPENSIVE. We're all in a tizzy out here about our booze right now.
We do have a great craft Distilling scene, but it's going to be really tough to find anything but JD near the con. The big wine and beer warehouse stores have a better selection.
If you can buy at the airport's Duty Free shops or bring from home, it's much more affordable.
If anyone wants to schedule a trip to a Big Store, let me know. My car seats 5 (counting me).
Trying to decide if I want to pick something up when I get to Seattle or attempt to pack one of the bottles I've already got at home... How expensive is "fucking expensive"? In AK a decent bottle of scotch runs around $80+, rum around $25-30....
I'm not sure that retail prices are that much higher than anywhere else, but the taxes may be. I'm pretty sure that the way it works in Washington is that we have a 20% sales tax on liquor and a ~$4 per liter tax. Which can get us in the neighborhood of "fucking expensive."
Cheers!

Are people having reservations of just buying a bottle at home and flying with it? Four years now I've had a bottle of scotch in my luggage with no issues.
Just wanted to check, as last time I flew with a couple bottles, I pretty much had to unpack the entire suitcase and show them each bottle. But that was over 4 years ago and flying out of KC. So, I'll probably bring Talisker or Laphroaig.

Smoked Pork Shoulder with good whole grain mustard and rye crackers, and maybe dark double chocolate cookies.
It's good to be local.
So, I'll think of something else.
I will try to go on the non-smoky side for that pairing.
Why don't you bring the pork? I'll bring the cookies.

I'll gladly swing by some other dayif there's any left.
I'm planning on stowing a bottle of Ardbeg for the trip that I'd be willing to share.

I'm certain between the two of us we'll figure something delicious out and it'd be a win-win for everyone!
ETA: I don't mean to exclude anyone, of course!!!
Edit: Or Crown Royal Black, but that's pretty popular/common
