So just to clarify again, since it was discussed earlier that yes, you CAN Encode on a Keyrune and it will stay:
What that is saying then, is that you can make the Dimir Keyrune a 2/2 unblockable, cast Undercity Plague, encode it on the Keyrune, and then at the end of your turn... it is no longer susceptible to Murder, Verdict or damage. And then on your next turn you can make it an unblockable creature again that destroys a permanent on hit.
Assuming I have that correct, I'm not alone in recognizing how absurd that is, am I?

as someone who is more rules knowledgeable than myself, does the Signal the Clans spell (the one that searches out three creature cards and adds one at random to your hand) allow for a failed-to-find or is it, as worded with the "search your library for three creature cards", required to find 3 cards if at least that many exist?
I thought that anything that asked for a specific card characteristic would enable a failed to find but people on Salvation were guessing that that specific wording was used to stop failed-to-find manipulations
How it works is you are able to search your library for up to three creature cards. Since your library is a hidden zone, and the search has a specifier "a creature card" you can say "I don't have any creatures in my library" and "fail to find" any number of creatures. Put more simply, you can search for 0, 1, 2, or 3 creature cards, and you can search for three different creatures, two of one creature and one of another, three of the same creature, or any combination of the above.
The second part of the card says, after you've searched, if you've revealed "three creature cards with different names" you can put one in your hand at random, and shuffle the rest into your library. If you DON'T reveal "three creature cards with different names" you have to shuffle what you found into your library and you don't get a creature in your hand.
The way the card is worded, if you don't follow the instructions exactly, you don't get a creature in your hand.

If you have a thragtusk out, Zagana is 6 mana, get a 6/6 creature, draw 6 cards. That's pretty good. Even better wit a bigger creature out.
If the board has been wiped, though, Zegana's basically dead until you land another creature. I mean, I guess you could cycle her, but that's a lot of mana to cycle a card.
'm pretty sure her upside more than makes up for her downside, though. She potentially draws a shitload of cards. Limited bomb, I'm guessing really strong in Standard as well.
Extort Grizzly Bear is boring, might see constructed play depending on how extort decks turn out but not at all exciting.

So interesting note about Zagana, the way she is worded, she will always have the largest power among creatures you control when she comes into play, meaning she always triggers evolve on all of your creatures, assuming you have any creatures with evolve (or at all).
i had a really weird merfolk deck once apon a time. had conspiracy or whatever to make everything a merfolk, and just wrecked stuff. also sea's claim. so that my lord of atlatnis made everything unblockable.

That's some quality design.

They also spoiled the common R/G hybrid card.
Pit Fight 1(R/G)
Instant - Target creature you control fights another target creature.
Decent instant speed removal assuming you have a creature bigger than what you want to destroy.
so I've just done a couple new player sealed on mtgo, and I'm wondering about some things. Is it normal to play 3-4 colors? 'Cause I've been trying to stick to two, but none of my opponents have. Also, am I screwed if I don't get any removal?

I basically play three at a minimum in Ravnica. The color fixing is there and the pools aren't often deep enough with just two.
No removal is hard, but not techically unwinnable. Sometimes you are just racing bombs though...

I was hoping that the common threat would be slivers

Didn't Dominaria get overrun with Slivers? That's basically the Sliver plane now. The Riptide project from Onslaught block led to Time Spiral block.

"IT WOULD TAKE A THIRD APOCALYPSE TO STOP THE SLIVERS NOW.
I MEAN JESUS CHRIST."

Although I'd like to see New Phyrexia as an interplanar threat now that poor Mirrodin is gone (gimme more Myr tribal fodder), it feels a little too soon to bring them back. Wouldn't Nicol Bolas or the Eldrazi be more likely to return first? Especially Bolas, since he's in M13 and everything. Maybe "Dragon's Maze" isn't referring to Niv-Mizzet at all.

yeah but from what I remember (I could be 100% wrong) the slivers came from Rath which in turn was an artificial plane that stole life from other areas (like the Kor who supposedly got dragged there from Zendikar)
which means that we still haven't seen wherever it is they originated from and thus we still have yet to get the sliver homeplane which, in theory, is overrun with all sorts of awesome slivers and things that evolved to combat them
