This one was actually pretty nifty, especially when the person was running on or over the beam attack.
You have no idea. You can't use it (effectively) against the bosses so it's not shown, but the rest of the game you've got various time abilities from freezing to rewind to replay, etc.
I just downloaded this game, but I cant get it to work. It always automatically exits after about three seconds of loading stuff. Can you help me with this?
Sorry for not responding sooner. I had never heard of Applocade before, but I just downloaded it. When it asked me to find what language the game was in, I couldnt, probably because "japanese" was written in japanese. So just picked a random option that didnt have any real character sets associated with them (just appearing as all boxes, or random symbols), and it said something like "YOUR COMPUTER CANT UNDERSTAND THIS LANGUAGE. GOODBYE."
And now I'm here.
(Im going to go download a japanese language pack in the meantime).
cho aniki series, thread over. ive played the game mebbe once, and seen alot of screens, and i still sometimes get nightmares from what ive seen. oh my god....just thinking about it makes me wanna cry, oh god
Christ, get over it. Straight women and gay men have been dealing with the reverse for years and you don't see us freaking out because of it.
I own the two PCECD ones. They are quite delightful, and not bad at all to play. #2, a shooter with streetfighter moves, yes! Works really well.
Also, no mention of toilet kids? Come on!
...got that one too. To confirm the lore, it is not a very good game. Not unplayable but not good. But it does have poop.
I actually own that by some bizarre chance. Wacky stuff.

Didn't someone talk about an art game that was an import? I'm interested myself but I just didn't get a name when I should of. It had a press lightly and press hard calibration and someone had made a portable DS painting.

EDIT: for the PAL Simple2000 releases under the 505Gamestreet or Essential Games labels, try Amazon or play.com. Zombie Vs. Ambulance was called Zombie Virus.

Monster attack and Global Defence Force are brilliant, yes?
the bar none absolute worst game i have ever imported in my life. so you have a sled/cart/whatever that is rocket/jet propelled, yet still needs MECHANICAL ANIMALS to pull it along. and not just normal shit like horse and buggy, oh no. we are talking robot dolphins and shit. everytime you try to turn the whole screen just kinda jerks to that side as you proceed to crash into the wall. oh. oh, so much fun was had. >:|

I finally played some bonafide Pop'n Music at a new arcade down here.
I think this makes us one of less than five places in the country with a Pop'n cabinet.
(It's a version 13, 'Festival'.)
Very quirky, but fun. It's like Beatmania, but I can actually see what's going on.
No wonder it's so obscure, though. Everything is in Japanese. Try searching through 500 songs in 30 seconds while having to look at every single one just to hear what they sound like.
On the bright side, it's got Cruel Angel's Thesis and Moonlight Densetsu(how, I have no idea).
The strangest import game I've ever played has to be Toilet Kids.
I discovered this game purely by accident while going through a collection of japanese Turbografx games with my brother one day. It starts with some kid going to the bathroom and being sucked into a toilet, only to end up in some bizarre toilet world where enemies are all comprised of various forms and varieties of shit. It plays like a SHMUP where you get regular bullets and bombs for the ground based crap monsters.
It is actually pretty fun and not as terrible as you'd imagine a game based around annihilating living gobs of fecal matter would be.

So it's basically Crazy Taxi with zombies.
...awesome.

I think thats it. I really hope they localize it but someone else said in that thread that it doesn't need really need localization. And thank you.
The UK got this.
And Vib Ribbon.
And Demolition Girl.
That is really hot. I want it now. I think I know what I'm getting myself for chrismas.
We did? Was it called something else? I kind of want to pick it up because it reminds me of Carmageddon, but nowhere seems to have it.
EDIT: Also Metal Wolf Chaos.
Time to break out my Simple2000 PAL reviews again?
Bonus Zombie Vs. Ambulance forum thread.

EVERYBODY WANTS TO SIT IN THE BIG CHAIR, MEG!
You should be looking for something called Zombie Virus.
Monster attack and Global Defence Force are brilliant, yes?
This is a remake of an old Neo-Geo game I can't remember the name of, it's awesome.
And also Pong.. and not to mention Tron. :P
I never asked for this!
Oh yes. The PAL releases are 50Hz, but it really doesn't matter.

WAIT! That's not something I should be admitting!
