Pretty much what it says in the title. I used to use Netvibes but they went through some wacky redesign and that was when I switched to Google Reader.

"We need to focus. Keep the self-driving cars, magic glasses, laptop, handheld OS, and Brazilian social network. Ditch the feed reader."

I hear The Old Reader is based on Google Reader pre-nerfs, but I haven't checked it out yet.

The Old Reader sounds interesting, but I don't like the idea of it getting my Google contacts or Facebook friends list.

Personally, I'm trying out Twitter and a whole bunch of lists as an alternative.

I'm trying out http://www.newsblur.com/ right now (as i have an windows phone 8 app that syncs to it)

It's getting hammered with all the people switching over but so far it seems decent. We'll see what's it's like when the dust settles.

Have you seen the mandatory Hitler video on the subject? It eases the pain of switching a bit:

Hmm I've been using Netvibes for years and don't remember a huge redesign. You've got your boxes of links still.

    RandomEngy on
Profile -> Signature Settings -> Hide signatures always. Then you don't have to read this worthless text anymore.

I switched to feedly, which I've found pretty good so far... but I used google reader for scientific articles and not for entertainment stuff, so I don't really have a good sense of how good their design is for more complex RSS feeds

Yeah, been using Feedly myself lately. The functionality is near-identical.
