I wasnt because of the effect but if only the strength counts then I will play it. If only to help prove I'm not the Cylon.
Well, I meant that since you had already declared to contribute 0 cards and there weren't any additional interrupts, that you shouldn't have been able to change your order. Since the card's out there now, and it seems like there was a bit of misunderstanding regarding skill check resolution, fairest thing at this point is to let the card stand.

Tenek, you may still choose your contribution.
Yeah... Without the Investigative Committee there, would be a different story I think. As is... dicks.
Current Player Helena Cain (Professor Phobos) must choose:
A) Skill Check [9] Politics + Leadership
Pass: No Effect.
Fail: -1 morale, and the Admiral discards 2 Skill Cards. OR -1 morale.
Active Quorum Cards:
Accept Prophecy - Prevent transfer of President title via the Administration location or increase difficulty of Admiral's Quarters checks against the President by 2; card is used once before discarded.
Ship Reserves: 5 Viper Mk II, 2 Raptors, and 1 Assault Raptor available, 4 Viper Mk VIIs damaged.
I don't think we can leave it any longer. If Phyphor messes with the pursuit track, which... he will, things get out of control in Space. Much as I'd like to get good vipers out or XO Adama for his fuel and freedom, priorities...
Move to Command. Activate Command to Escort Civilians C & E in Port-Quarter.
At the moment, we want to control the situation in such away that the Cylons jump in on Kat's, Adama's or Cain's turn. With Cain in Main Batteries, she can be XO'ed for the PEW PEW.
Movement Step: Kaneski moves to Command. Action Step: Activate Command. The unmanned viper in Port-Quarter (5 o'clock) is activated twice, escorting civilian ships C and E off the board.
D'Anna continues her work aboard Galactica, helping coordinate the fleet formation to better protect the civilians. Meanwhile, Helena Cain has her hands full as she has to oversee the training of new pilots. With her attention divided between her duties as Admiral and organizing flight training, something will have to give.
Crisis Step: Training a Rookie
CAG Helena Cain (Professor Phobos) must choose:
A) Activate one unmanned viper. Then Activate Raiders. OR The CAG chooses 2 vipers that are not currently damaged or destroyed and moves them to the "Damaged Viper" box.
Professor Phobos selects Option A, launching a Viper Mk. II to Port-Quarter (5 o'clock). Raiders advance from the Fore (9 o'clock) to Starboard-bow (11 o'clock).
Vipers are launched to support the patrols, but Cylon forces take the opportunity to advance closer to the human fleet.
After Crisis: Three raiders are launched from the Fore (9 o'clock) basestar.
Turn 22: Samuel "Doc" Cottle (Cutfang)
Receive Skills Step: Samuel "Doc" Cottle (Cutfang) draws 1 Politics, 2 Tactics, and 2 Engineering cards.
Active Quorum Cards:
Accept Prophecy - Prevent transfer of President title via the Administration location or increase difficulty of Admiral's Quarters checks against the President by 2; card is used once before discarded.
Ship Reserves: 4 Viper Mk II, 2 Raptors, and 1 Assault Raptor available, 4 Viper Mk VIIs damaged.
Are we confident enough in our hands? Sounds like a fun idea. Depending on the mission it may be mostly down to Phobos to pass it. I think we have the hand strength, but a lack of Investigative Committees may hurt.
IC can't affect mission checks - no card can. 6/8 have tactics as colors (which we collectively hold a shitload of), one of those that don't has engineering - you and me buddy; and the other... is distance with 2 extra treachery if failed. So, that one could be bad, but odds, as well as the negative isn't dreadful, just... annoying. And if you remember what you binned - maybe you can guess the odds on Tactics being the next required color.
Having said all that, other useful things - Captain's Cabin to draw up politics or leadership (though Phyphor will get one too), Plot to see what's coming, Armory to shoot Centurion, or park somewhere like communications to be an XO target. If no mission on your turn, blah's draw for safety means he really should do one. We should get a mission out before Phyphor gets to draw treachery.
Movement Step: Cutfang moves to the Bridge. Action Step: Activate the Bridge, drawing the top card of the Mission Deck as the active mission.
Work on Demetrius continues at a good pace when the ship picks up a mysterious signal. Could it be a sign from the gods or a beacon left from humans that have previously traveled through the area long ago? Whatever the cause, it is an extraordinary opportunity that must be pursued.
Mission Step: The Search For Home
Skill Check [25] Politics + Leadership + Tactics + Engineering
Pass: This card counts as 2 distance. The next time the fleet jumps, place this card next to the Earth Objective Card.
Fail: -1 fuel. Then turn this card facedown on the "Active Mission" space.
I think everything but State of Emergency + an XO from Cain (lets hope she has/gets one) should be piled into this one. Even Scout for Fuel. Empty your hands. We're in excellent shape until Cain's next turn. The only way this can go better is if Romo gets a Brutal Force. If Cain can State of Emergency/XO me on her turn, I can clean up all the space problems (ie all the civilians) that are likely to happen, too.
We get no crisis on a mission turn - Romo's is the only crisis before Phyphor/Jailbirds, and the worst thing that can happen is the raiders advance to starboard-quarter. If Romo's crisis doesn't activate raiders, we can probably even get Adama to XO Cain to pew pew the raiders and then let him out.
Man... getting the distance mission made me delirious with the possibility of actually winning...
Reminders - no interrupts can be played, and skill check abilities aren't resolved. So no iron will, no trust instincts, no red tape (hurrah!), no establish networks (boooo!) nothing. It is strictly numbers and only reds and treachery are negative. There may be up to 2 treacheries coming out of the DD, and we haven't seen the high-value ones.
I'll be playing my 2 highest cards into this, despite their total bitchness, and I urge all you filthy meatsacks to do the same.
2 cards
@Professor Phobos I still have an XO after contributing, so on your turn, if you move to Armory (if the centurion is still onboard), then play SOE, then XO me to clean up civs; on my turn I can XO you back to get the centurion out. It's magnificent... So if you got one - keep it.
Yes! Why do you think I'm so elated? And if we do the State of Emergency/XO me/XO Cain on Armory, all the space threats will be gone. From then, we can practically afford to ignore crisis for a jump cycle while we recover.
I really can't help much with cards I can part with. Do you think you guys have this handled without me?
No, we don't and do you really want to take the risk... 25 target, Romo is pretty drained of cards, the jailed pilots will cancel each other out (assuming one is a cylon and will spike), and we need to overcome destiny. Dump all your 1s and 2s - you mentioned a ton of launch scouts. Volume over individual card value works. This is distance without fuel cost - if "your first born" was an action card, you should play it. Dump it all. We only have 1 crisis to deal with (Romo's) before you draw again, so save the SOE, an XO, and dump the rest.
Honestly, putting 40 strength worth of cards into this will still be worth it. Distance without fuel cost.

Are you sure Phobos shouldn't put in the SOE, Kaneski? Yeah, it's a powerful card, but like you said, we're fighting destiny and we desperately need to pass this.
Are you sure Phobos shouldn't put in the SOE, Kaneski? Yeah, it's a powerful card, but like you said, we're fighting destiny and we desperately need to pass this.
Phobos has 8 cards. 1 for SOE. unless the other 7 are ALL 0s and 1s, SOE should be saved. So - no, I'm not sure, but it's on Phobos to decide. I reckon if the rest of Phobos' cards combined are 11-13 strength, we'd be OK. If not, much as it sucks, SOE should go in... I mean it would be one hell of a "FU" if most of the cards we could contribute are 1s and 2s.
I'm counting on at least a few 3+s between what you, I and Doc already contributed...
Also, any thoughts like "well.. I'll save THIS strat planning" deserve instant death... this missions check is practically for the game.

It costs a few actions, yeah, but... 10 distance. This one is practically mandatory.
