And Im pretty sure that's the week of the Cocktail classic, so I will likely not be browniing it up myself.
ehh, then we save it for a time where it makes sense.

Oh and last year the Cocktail classic Gala was at the NY Public library. It must be done. We can get fucked up, head to the basement and re-enact the opening of ghostbusters.
i love the aja art and the general feel of the series. oddly it's at its strictly weakest when the superhero stuff rears its head. it's great when it functions as a character study - a basically decent dude who makes some bad decisions and has some issues and adventures.
but then, you know, some hokey-ass marvel supervillian shows up and cackles and threatens and ugh @comicnerds
this is my reaction to True Detective's ending not even a spoiler really but I know some people are hyper sensitive about the slightest information. so with that, fair warning!
did anyone else cry? the last words were so beautiful and well delivered. just really good especially coming from Cohle, someone that's said he was a pessimist or whatever and came across as convinced of the futility of it all. just beautiful.
the last ten minutes or so was pretty emotional, powerful stuff but i didn't actually cry because i'm a real man
i cry or tear up pretty frequently during movies and stuff

And I feel like this is the point in which I say that I am really not enjoying my time with these flagship android devices.
The Galaxy Nexus just feels flimsy and shit, and despite being only 2 years old and a nexus device, it gets no 4.4 because fuck you, that's why.
The new Nexus 7 has much better build quality and a beautiful screen, but 16x9 is a terrible aspect ratio for small tablets, as web browsing just feels compressed and tall, or lacking a lot of vertical visibility when landscape.
Also, the wide choice of web browsers, none of which are as mature as their desktop analogues, means that browsing on this thing is like the wild west of the late 90s / early 2000s where IE and Netscape were basically two completely different applications that did completely different things.
The best results I have experienced on any of the devices is the Stock Browser on the galaxy nexus, as it is the least removed from core webkit, and works as you would want a mobile browser to. The worst experience has been Chrome on the galaxy nexus, as it handles javascript COMPLETELY differently, and doesn't adhere to proper mobile stylesheet conventions. I am having to retool sites that work on every other browser, including ie fucking 7, for chrome on phones, and that is so fucking dumb.
Why do people like this shit?

It's probably a better movie/porn device than the iPad mini.
It's not as good for reading stuff, due to the size + aspect ratio.
edit: but it is built very well, and doesn't feel like the weird plasticy piece of shit that the samsung phone feels like.
99% of my use is web browsing or tablet games
i use the chrome browser
like i said i like it, it just works
maybe my perception is coloured from using a motorolla tablet that was basically worse than AIDS and cancer combined but yeah nexus 7 is a great little machine
Upswing of motivation to figure out how the fuck to get a PMP so I can get the hell out of here.
Frustrated looking at some half-formed plans that I have to abandon because no change on job position means I can't. Things like being excited about the shorter commute, eating lunch at home and getting to cook rather than eating out, these things. It fucking sucks.
I guess I'll start looking for more stuff again this week. Everything around me at this office has a filter over it now that makes me just disgusted and also more than a little scared about getting back on the career track before I'm too old to make it happen.

I am having a lot less problems working with chrome on the nexus 7 than I am the galaxy nexus, yes... I think Google has mostly figured out how to render a good desktop experience, but their mobile browser rendering, especially regarding JS/HTML5 stuff, is sorely lacking.

39, 40 in October. I can't still be doing printer repair and helping people fix their fucking email at this age, I'll never get back into an executive career track.

Yeah, I've been there before job wise.
Just try and take it one day at a time and keep going with your search and consider your options. If there's anything I can do to help just let me know.

are you calling him a big baby
I'm guessing he was thinking it's one of those things where a guy in his mid-20s is freaking out about getting older
Which it kind of is, but also ageism will begin to be a factor for me in a year. Nobody hires a 40yr old guy for network administration. It's just not done.
I need to get the fuck out and back on to the career path I intended to follow before the economy exploded.
