hello. i thought i've been making cartoons for sometime now, and i realy like the penny arcade cartoons so i thought i would join there fourm and see what othere people think of my cartoon/ have any suggestions:)
In all seriousness, though...do you find yourself really really inspired by family guy? It just seems some of the expressions come directly from that show, as well as the random punchlines.
And whatever you do, please don't make the punchline the title of the comic. It completely ruins the element of suprise.
Turn off the computer, pick up a pencil, and go draw some vases and fruit.
...i only like cartoons. otherwise i wouldve taken art.
Notice how your cartoons are childishly constructed and painful to look at? Taking my advice will help change that.
well if your reffering to the handdrawn ones there old. my hand drawing are getting better, ive just been to lazy to scan them onto my computer
Listen to his advice. Your comics arn't drawn well and won't be drawn well unless you learn how to draw, which you can't do by only drawing in a cartoony style.

Maybe I'm just looking for more reasons to hate this, but it almost looks like half your faces are stolen from family guy, particularly the eyes. Which also begs the question why the hell do you use at least two radically different styles of drawing eyes within the same strip
Seriously, do you dislike us for some reason? I'm trying to think of what I might have done to make you want to hurt me like this, and I can't come up with anything.
Some actual crits, not that you want them...
All these comments on your drawing ability? YOU SHOULD TAKE THEM TO HEART. Yeah, you only like cartoons. Well, these are really badly drawn even by 'cartoon' standards. whatever those might be.
Your humor isn't really humor at all. When it's not offensive it looks like it's just drawn from your own personal experience - and by 'personal' I mean things that maybe you and your closest friends will understand, and that's it. That one comic about the 'mom' going crazy about picking up the guy who needs a ride? I don't know your mom. If I did, I'm sure seeing a comic about her freaking out would be hilarious. I'd have to be fifteen years old, drunk and stoned, though - which also isn't a funny joke in and of itself.
I'm just going to go ahead and hammer this point home: So you're in high school, that's pretty obvious. A lot of people on this forum are in high school, or not long past it. They draw better than you. I drew better than you in high school. They also cartoon better than you. This is because they (and I) spent most of the time either taking art classes or practicing drawing. REAL drawing, not doing the same doodles over and over. This applies to all your stuff, hand-drawn and MS Paint. Some people can do nice things in Paint. Wakkawa can do nice things in Paint. You can't do nice things in Paint. Stop using Paint.
edit: One more thing - all your characters wear upturned collars, so I'm gonna just go ahead and assume you wear upturned collars. ased on this assumption, I have to hate you. All I need to know is you flip the collar on your unlikely skull-logoed polo shirt, and you seriously need to die a thousand deaths. If there's one thing that makes me fly into completely unjustified rage, it's seeing a teenage guy with an upturn-collar'd polo shirt. You're not cool.
further edits: JESUS CHRIST, WILL YOU JUST FUCKING DIE?!?!?
Man, I dunno. Homeless jokes? Paying special attention to the little logo on every shirt? Making sure the the collar is popped and his characters are clearly "in style" with the latest American Eagle clothing?
Character still takes the bus. a "Mom gets angry at me comic"...
...I doubt this is high school. I was thinking upper middle school.
not to be offensive or anything, it's just seems the humor/grammar in your comics is, ah, "younger" than the median age of these forums.

...yeah, I don't think you're going to get any positive feedback here. Your comics just aren't funny. The only one I thought personally had anything going for it was the first one, with the "ironic world" bit.

I don't think you SUCK, but you do need to practice more. Don't take the insults to heart, but please take the constructive criticism. Do some drawing from life. I promise it will help your cartooning.
Keep practicing, and don't get stuck drawing a "style" until you've got the fundamentals down. There's so much more to art and cartooning than trying to find the "one way" that you draw things. Practice practice practice.
Yeah, I have the same thing with kids who wear their hats crooked.
"Hey look! I just got hit by a car! That's why my pants are hanging below my underwear and my stupid visor is upside down like this! You'll also notice I'm limping."
I live in Philadelphia. A lot of 30+ guys look like that. I've had to become immune to it or risk skull implosion due to rage.

If the comics' drawing style and art quality, dialogue, and humor are intentionally done as anti-humor to go along with the 'hey guys I know you like comics so I hope you like these' opening post, then it's almost hilarious.
But I suspect it's all perfectly sincere. I once had an idea for a comic, but I realized I didn't have a clear or unique plan for it and I certainly wasn't good at drawing the way every other comic is drawn, so I scrapped it and devoted my efforts to other mediums I could actually be good in.
At 15 you should probably stick to making wise-cracks in the cafeteria. Building up some actual art talents will enable one to draw refined visually-pleasing caricatures with real shapes and depth, rather than assemble flat 'cartoons' like Colorforms.

well, what do you think of the paint cartoons?
Generally comics made in MS paint can't be considered "art" per say.
1) decent art skills
2) decent writing skills
3) sense of humour
I'm showing 0 for 3 here. None of these even made me smile.
Really, there's nowhere you can go but up from this.
Draw some apples.
Trust me on this.

Style-concious, AE-toting, pot-smoking and underage-drinking kids making fun of homeless people with a clichéd trashcan joke isn't really what we'd call funny.
grade 10 :?
Ah, disillusionment.

See? I'm good.
?
Well when you're looking up irony in the dictionary, you can check out disillusionment too.
Get used to the feeling.
Now I'm just killing time till this thread is locked. I'm okay with that.

One more thing, please stop using mspaint.
Good luck to you, and happy doodling.
Okay, I apologize for maybe being slightly too harsh, but the collar thing... NNNGH!

in no context is any of this stuff funny.
