My guess they hated how Feriousa was a lead, and the supporting cast were mostly women. Which were all excellent characters in their own right. But yeah, it's bullshit. One MRA in particular was angry about a woman (or anyone) bossing Max around - when that happened in the previous movies.
They must have hated Beyond Thunderdome.

I love that the MRAs are conveniently glossing over the fact that Max is still the most badass, as usual. It's just that for once, the supporting cast does a really good job of fighting back as well.
Mad Max was excellent. The Doof Warrior stole every scene he was in (I love that he has a name, and that that is his name). So many things that movie did right, when most movies shop them wrong.
