    Also Garnet and Amethyst didn't have much show time this episode but they still managed to each get a great line.

    Also this episode finally game me all the ideas for the Steven Universe fighting game I'll never make.

    See, I wanted to include Steven and Connie but I couldn't figure out a way how. Now I have one:
    Have them be one character fighting together!

    I like the new into, but I think the old one was better.

    I like how the new intro is much more about the characters, but the musicality of it suffers I think.

    I think the invasion episode was supposed to be Steven's turning point with the Shield and it only feels weird because half the episodes we've gotten since were made before which sorta regressed Steven in our eyes.

    Yeah, with the weird airing of some S1 eps in S2 you end up with an inconsistent Steven but watching just the 6 'true' episodes of S2 its consistent.

    I think you could make the case that the events of return/jailbreak force steven to mature in a way that he essentially has to be able to summon shield/bubble at will.
