You could chop up the breast into pieces and make a stir-fry with some fresh vegetables, along with some onions / garlic and some sorta stir-fry sauce.... or honey and soy sauce.
edit: haha that was supposed to be in the swears thread wow I am dense
edit2: but while I am here, I am wondering if anyone has any really simple recipes for boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I was thinking some garlic pepper, some olive oil, sautee until brown? I am trying improve my meager cooking skills
do you happen to live in California or an area with a mexican market
because a marinade of basalmic vinegar, olive oil, and menudo spice is great, quick(20-30 minutes) and easy. Then you just pan fry them, and serve them on a bed of rice or couscous, or any grain, really.
You can substitute your own stuff for the menudo spice too. It's just oregano, dried garlic and onion, and red chili flakes.
excuse my ignorance, but do you need a wok for a good stir fry or can it be done with a regular pan?
to really do it right, you need both a wok and a stove that can get really hot
gas stoves usually work well
you can just use a skillet or a frying pan but it won't come out as well, especially if you use a non-stick pan since you can't use a high heat without damaging the coating, but it can still be pretty tasty

Oh man, this Saturday for my Girlfriend's birthday I made some really good food.
For lunch I whipped up some roast beef sandwiches with some stinky cheese and habenero jelly, they were out of this world.
Then I made some chocolate cupcakes from scratch, however once they cooled I filled a piping bag with a mixture of peanut butter (1 cup), butter (3 Tablespoons), and powdered sugar (I think it was like 1.5 Cups, I don't have the recipie with me) and whipped it until fluffy. Anyway I stabbed the pastry tip into the top of the cupcake and squeezed in the peanut butter as I withdrew the tip. It was awesome you could feel the cupcakes bulging with peanty goodness. Then I covered them with a ganashe (half pound of dark chocolate mixed with a cup of simmered cream). The ganache gets pretty solid so when you take a bite peanut butter doesn't squirt out the top, also it seals the cake preventing them from drying up too much. They were awesome.
Then, as if that wasn't enough, for dinner I pan seared some dry aged NY Strips in cast iron, then finished them in the oven to somewhere around rare/med. rare blanched some asparagus and whipped up some really buttery and creamy roasted garlic mashed potatos. I then topped the asparagus and steak with a garlic and parsley bearnaise sauce.
I about died of happiness, also all that plus a pretty necklace makes for a happy girlfriend.

I went dumpster diving with some friends of mine last night, we got about 30 good bananas (most of which are now in the freezer, to be transformed into smoothies/milkshakes). Plus we got 3 salmon steaks. Fried one of those up last night, man that was good.
That's funny Riggs, because I weigh all of 125 lbs. And I'm in pretty good shape.
They are pretty tasty.
and how old are you?

yeah, let's talk when you hit 30 and see if you're still in such great shape dumbfuck
Yeah, I really wish I had developed better eating habits earlier, They are hard as fuck to break now and my metabolism is plummeting. I like haute cuisine, fancy cheese, and butter far to much to eat healthy all the time but I am at least cutting fast food lunches and crap frozen food dinners out, also I have come to enjoy salads a lot more. That plus rock climbing and jogging 2-3 times a week and I'm actually somewhat improving.
I'm only 25, but hopefully I can get get this all under control before my metabolism REALLY starts to drop off.

Dru why do you hate people who can stay in shape with little to no effort?
Most people can stay skinny without all that much effort up until their mid 20s. Then the weight starts creeping up. That's why I laugh at anyone who's under 30 who claims that they can eat whatever they want and are still in great shape. I have a friend who was a swimmer when she was in college, had a fucking tight bod and was really good at it. Now she's in her early 30s and still looks good but she has to be careful about what she eats, stays very active (she does traithlons) but she definitely doesn't have the bod she used to and complains about it. So really I'm laughing at him for being young and stupid because his eating habits are going to fuck him hard in about 10 years.

Buy an electric wok, they work really well and are not terribly expensive.

What do they taste like?
I eat these almost daily. For $1 a pop, they are amazing. The chimichangas are the best though.
They are pretty tasty.
