I think I'm ready to move on from FWC. I just got my fourth Vanity from a level up package.
Have you purchased the Vacancy? Have you completed Not Forged in Light? Have you hit rank 25 with FWC?
I do have the Vacancy. I wasn't aware of the Not Forged in Light quest. I guess I'll look into that the next time Paradox is the daily. @Radiation let me know about the lvl 25 exotic quest. I guess I'll stick with FWC for now. I'm just tired of getting all of these Vanity hand cannons. I suppose it's good infusion fuel for other primary weapons though.

Well, at least you can hope for good rolls on a Villainy, Vortex, or Vanity.
Also the Vanity is a pretty good little gun, obviously you need the right perks but it definitely has it in it's locker just like most hand cannons.
The pre-2.2.0 vendor roll-- with LitC, Extended Mag, and Firefly-- is a major PvE beast. (Except that it seems to proc the Firefly bug on my box more often than any other gun.)
Hand Cannons in general seem pretty dependent on their perks, though. A PR or a Scout with good base stats can still be usable despite a meh roll, but I feel like HCs in particular need decent perks to feel good in your hands.
Running strikes last night and the first one I drop into is Omnigul. She drops a Grasp of Malok for me with Truesight is, counter balance, perfect balance/injection mold/mutiny, and army of one. Not a bad roll for my first drop. I need to level this thing up and see how it performs.
I'd be down to put together a Thursday warpriest/golg a go. I'll try and snag a checkpoint for that sweet loot tonight or tomorrow so we don't have to waste like 4 years on the relay/ships part.

Challenge this week is Oryx. Maybe we can get a finish on the raid on the weekend if there's enough interest to get the challenge.
Also, if we skip the ship jumping won't @PrjctD_Captain miss the Calcified Frag after that section?

I'd love to run the raid again, my available times are a bit later than 9 EST these days though.

That is a pretty much a god roll for pvp. Learn to use the GoM in its effective range and it melts people because of how fast you can put out 3 bursts.

Bungie should either increase the rewards from Nightfalls or make them more fun.
Seriously, NF's since Taken Spring has been 85% awful trash modifiers and mediocre loot.
Exposure, Trickle, Grounded and Berserk (especially Berserk combined with Phalanxes) needs to go the fuck away. - its just anti-fun crap.
Oh, what do you know, it is Berserk combined with Phalanxes this week... Yeah, fuck right off with that.
He probably does it just to make min/maxer's heads explode.
Mostly just huntin' monsters.

I don't like Destiny's PvP so this tier 12 stuff is wasted on me. I assume that's the big draw right? In the raid, 5 sec difference on a grenade recharge isn't all that important but I can understand the value in Trials.
I actually like having some strength on my Titan for one reason: Melting Point.
Of course, I'm usually Defender anyway, so it doesn't really matter, but still. Melting point is really good.

I think it's also just one more thing to nerd out over, until the next expansion drops.
But even as someone who PvPs a fair amount, I feel like good perk rolls are more important than chasing T12. I'd rather have gloves that reload my Hawkmoon faster or give me more Special ammo, rather than recharge my grenades a few seconds faster. Of course, I'm usually casually pubbing 6v6 rather than sweating it out in 3v3 or running Trials, so I'm not exactly on the bleeding edge of performance over here.
Plus I fully admit, I pick my armor based primarily on aesthetics. Let me tell you, my fully-chroma'd-out FWC Hunter is looking fabulous.
-Exotic sword completion
-That 50th fragment from golgo
-At least ONE of the blue/green ships in my collection (Mind Bleacher, Sidereal Rumba, whatever the third one is called)
...Maybe I can think about playing something else from my backlog sometime soon...maybe...
-At least ONE of the blue/green ships in my collection (Mind Bleacher, Sidereal Rumba, whatever the third one is called)
Yeah, what is the deal with those? Apart from Hebridean Thoughtcrime and the Trials ships, those blue/green ones are the only Legendary ships I'm missing. But I can't figure out where they drop from. Presumably something Crucible-related, but I've never seen one in a post-game drop or rank-up package.
EDIT: I googled it like a normal person, and they only drop as a reward from the Shaxx weekly.

Most of the rank rewards I've gotten from Shaxx since April have had a ship, but they've all been red/blue. I just got the last one of those last week... so I'm HOPING that there's just some code that rolls through the ships in order (y1/y2) and that the next package with a ship drops the green/blue for me.
Want to thank everyone who helped drag me through my first IB in what had to be close to 6 months. I had fun living in the bottom 3 of our team rankings and hitting rank 5. I was also awarded about 6 ghost shells, and went from around 214 to 221. You guys are all da real MVP
T12 is actually fun to work towards. It also makes me more closely look at each drop to see if if has a good roll, perks, and also looks nice. Datto did a video about it today and basically said as much. It's time consuming but if you already play a lot it certainly doesn't hurt. Between Item Manager, Tower Ghost and http://destinytailor.com/ you can see the most effective loadout for each guy. My ideal set-up would be T12 Trials gear with Pulse or Fusion rifle perks. Right not my Hunter has pretty good perks but the ammo perk on the chest is pretty crap.
Nothing ever gets past those 2 points, really. There's just so much RNG for armor that I can't imagine getting the right stats with perfect perks PLUS bother caring if it's T12-capable. Maybe that's less of an issue for people who PvP and get armor more frequently than once a week (since I really only raid), but personally it's a non-issue.
(Destiny) Doot Doot, Shoot Brutes for New Boots, Woot Woot for Rad Suits and Phat Loots
The advantages of T12 aren't gonna change the game for you, so not worrying about it is fine. But, you likely have thrown out more good gear than you realize by now. Focusing on T10 or 11 with good perks is as effective as just going T12 with crap perks, I would think. So keeping an eye out for good armor doesn't hurt in the long run.
Certain classes benefit more than others, like Sunsingers where they use their abilities a lot or Nightstalkers who need their Wombo combo up quickly. Stacking towards Disc/Str and then getting super boosting perks is a good idea, like Ashes to Assets is a common perk on helmets and is great for low Int builds.

I've gotten my Hunter to T11 Disc/Str with 90% of the right perks and it's a lot of fun.

What kind of monster has that low a strength stat on a titan.
Edit: Playing a defender in control is still a lot of fun. Hit bubble and the IQ of the opposing team still drops by like 20 points.

...if logging in for three raids and Trials and Armsday and Xur can be considered "light".
I'll probably be on tomorrow to get in some PoE and CoE action going.
Any PS4 crew want to get some Warpriest/Golgoroth time in this week? I think @PrjctD_Captain could use some raid gear and Calcified Fragments.
