Also apparently Tuesday is the best day of the week.
From what I understand, also buying on a Tuesday can decrease the price. Check out sites like Momondo and Skyscanner which are used by some travel agents. Sign up to quick flights if you're in a hub city and you can find cheap flights.
Lists like that that usually don't factor in Southwest. Which flies to San Antonio. While they do tend to trend along with the other airlines' prices, they also can have deep sales periodically. I bought my PAX West tickets in February, over 6 months out. I looked every day the whole time they were for sale, and tickets were never cheaper than that.

I have no idea. You would think that the earlier you buy them, the less they will be.
I'm not promising anything but if you wait until the holidays (i.e Black Friday sales) you might find things to be a bit cheaper.
