    Asked for a fresh one and they used up all the Croissants to make the "special" ahead of time in plastic wrap. Makes it taste horrible.

    While we're talking about overused film stuff, I think it's time to retire the Wilhelm Scream.

    It never fails to take me out of a movie or TV show.

    I was watching Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell a few days ago and they had the Wilhelm Scream in a really dramatic scene and it almost ruined it.

    Please, filmmakers, I'm begging you, please stop it.

    I still haven't finished that book.

    Forced myself to get about halfway because it was highly recommended to me but I couldn't keep waiting for it to get interesting.

    I am trying to figure out how to emotionally best deal with work stress. It's different from grad school stress because it's not *my* project in the way that grad school was, but I still want things to be good work--but I also shouldn't lose sleep over it--but I also shouldn't disinvest too much because otherwise what is even the point--

    yeah I don't know, have had to tell myself today "You do not hate your job just because there are a lot of deadlines coming up soon"

    I need the appropriate distance and perspective.
