Cosplay crunch time!!! How is everyone else doing with theirs? I'm at the, "All I have to do is put these pieces together, which shouldnt take that long..." point. Of course, 3 days day later I am still putting the pieces together!
Haha. I am definitely in the middle of balancing "I don't really need that, right?" with "Can I work on this on the commuter rail this morning without disturbing the muggles?"
Looking forward to the League meetup on Saturday!
All Cosplay, All the Time.
Except for: Warmachine, Super Dungeon and proudly watching my husband play games since 2006.
Final Fantasy. Persona. Assassin's Greed. Disgaea.
Another Witcher peep reporting in! I'm going to be cosplaying Iorveth again this year, I'd love to take some pictures with you guys! I'll be there at least on Friday and Sunday. Impromptu Witcher meetup? Here's me last year:
I'd love to do a Witcher meetup! My friend and I are cosplaying on Saturday.
A Witcher meetup would be awesome. I'm only going to be there Friday afternoon/evening and Sunday though. That said, my schedule is fairly open on those days!
[/quote]
How about 5pm on Friday then? We could meetup around the main entrance? Should be pretty easy to spot each other I imagine!
I'll be doing a Princess Peach/Splatoon Cossplay as I did last year as well as my new Stocking Anarchy Crossplay as well. Its going to be a lot of fun!

Thanks to a packing issue I'm gonna have to wear a good amount of my costume on the commuter rail. This oughta be fun!
So I commented a few months ago about what I'd be cosplaying, and wow I was over ambitious. Some stuff didn't end up getting done and some other things need repairs. So here's my new line up! Friday: Melia Antiqua, (Xenoblade Chronicles), cosplay is a little roughed up from Katsu, so my back up is season four Weiss Schnee from RWBY. Saturday: Widowmaker, (Overwatch) Sunday: female Mccree, (Overwatch)
I'll also be walking around with a Junkrat on Saturday and Sunday. I'm really excited to meet other Overwatch cosplayers! Also if you like Xenoblade talk to me about Xenoblade.

Waited a bit to give others a chance to respond, but yeah-- 5pm Friday works for me! Mini Witcher meetup!

I will be doing a different cosplay on Friday but perhaps my husband, dressed as Geralt will stop by.
"You want to kill me? You couldn't even kill my boredom" - Roronoa Zoro (One Piece).
I'm going to do an easy Asahi Azumane from Haikyuu cosplay on Sunday probably. Does anyone know if bringing a volleyball with me for the cosplay is going to be an issue? I know the policy on weapons, not so much on balls.

People bring beach balls for the lines, unless you're throwing it at people I doubt it would be a problem.
So, while packing my luggage last night, I just threw all my costumes into the suitcase.
Captain N,
Mr. Foster from Killing Floor 2.
And the original Green Power Ranger.
Will I find time to wear them all? Who knows!
Are there any pokemon cosplayers out there? I'm doing a bit of a realistic (I.E. creepy) take on a pokemon that loves to put people to sleep. Would love to do some meet ups and take a bunch of staged pics or something.
Well, in blatant defiance of my schedule, budget, and personal level of apathy, I managed to get my Tanith trooper cosplay together! Next year I plan to add to it and turn it into a specialist's uniform (still deciding between scout and marksman). In the mean time I need to convince one of the people in my group to help me paint on my face tattoo.
Edit: Can't seem to resize pictures on my phone, so I guess you folks will see it tomorrow.
Hi guys! This was my very first Pax and I had a great time everyone really seemed to love my Abominable Mei cosplay. Its only my second costume and I don't have the greatest self-esteem when it comes to this kind of stuff but you all really made it feel like all the hard work and love I put into making it really paid off.
If you took any pictures Abominable Mei I'd love to see them. You can tag'em @qthedramacosplays on Insta or fb so I CA. Find them. ^-^ hope you guys had a great PAX!
If anybody got a pic of me or with me, please tag me @27gannicus on twitter. It was my first cosplay and had an amazing time. I think I might have to do it every year!!
This was my first time cosplaying, and it was awesome. I was Breath of the Wild Link on Friday, I don't have any pictures on hand and I know there were others cosplaying as Link on that day, but does anyone have any pictures from that day?
Loved seeing all the cosplayers! I was the Dark Souls 3 Firekeeper on Saturday (which was delightful, since it was such a warm costume despite the weather!) If anyone got any pictures, I'd love to see!
Just wanted to say that I'm so happy to see a fairly huge cosplay presence at PAX East this year. Due to Enforcing, I didn't get as much pictures of you talented folks as I hope.
Anyway, you all have done a tremendous job and I look forward to seeing you all at a future convention.
This does remind me of a question, is there any specific way people get photos taken of you (specifically by photographers), or does it just happen by chance when people run into you? I know I spent a large part of Friday waiting in line for Nintendo, would wandering around a bit more increase the chances of running into a photographer?
For an actual pro photographer, you want to schedule that with them, and they will probably charge you.
If you just want random people to take your picture... just.. kinda wander? Maybe hang out by the big PAX sign in the lobby? Or carry a sign that says "Please take my picture!"
Or, if your costume has a helmet, do what I do, take off the helmet and watch people descend upon you to ask for photos.. EVERY TIME.
Or, if your costume has a helmet, do what I do, take off the helmet and watch people descend upon you to ask for photos.. EVERY TIME.
Wait, why would taking off the helmet result in more photo requests?
My costume had a helmet, but underneath was a balaclava, and part of getting the look right was having some of my hair stick out of the balaclava and hang over my eyes; the balaclava without the helmet looked ridiculous. For me, it was both, or neither.
Still kicking myself because my hero Daisuke Amaya (Pixel) was at PAX East 2014 the same day as me and I didn't see him

Okay thanks, guess I'll need to just manage my time better next time then.

It's hard to explain, I am sure there is a phrase for it, but, it kind of announces that you're going on break and/or done cosplaying, and people want to get the photo right now because if you're taking parts off, they might not get a chance later.
I don't pull the helmet off looking for people to run up and take photos, I honestly do it when I just want to get some fresh cool air into my lungs, and to maybe wipe my face with a paper towel, especially when I don't turn on the fan I mounted into it. Or I just want to have a conversation with someone, and have forgotten to bring the wireless microphone I connect to a speaker on my belt.
Tiny blower fans something like this are amazing to stick into enclosed helmets, they blow a nice constant stream of air, and prevent the visor in my mask from just getting completely covered in humidity from my breath, and usually aren't overwhelmingly loud as long as they're not right beside your ear. (I think mine might be 5V)
There were a million dvas, but I was a "high school dva" with a crochet bunny hood and pachimari bag. This was my first ever attempt at any sort of cosplay and I am a dunce and didnt take any photos while at PAX. If anyone has anything you can tag me on insta at: @meowalexandria
Thanks!
So i guess there is one upside to the crappy resolution of the photo kiosk photo. I don't have to downgrade it to post here. I'll post a link with the final results of the entire suit when I'm done. This was earlier on, like Friday

Other than wandering and hoping to get photographed -- and then trying to get contact info to the person who took the photo on the spot -- it's probably best to try to arrange in advance with someone. I just joined the forums to discuss this past con, but I'd have to imagine that if someone in this thread (or next year's version) says "Hey, I'm gonna be there next month/week/etc. and would love to have some photos of my cosplay, can anyone meet up with me to do that?" you'd get someone.
I know a lot of cosplayers also coordinate with a friend to sort of partner up through the con with them, both for practical reasons (carrying stuff/badges/etc. so you don't have to) and for things like taking pictures. Might also be worth thinking about who you can sucker into being your bag person next time around

Yeah dude it was fun signing you. Then seeing you again at the Omegathon on Sunday and seeing how signed you were...it was nuts. Loved the idea though. Really cool. Great meeting you!
I was Widow and Genji this weekend! I had such an incredible time, if you have any pics I'd love to see them!
I totally saw you in both costumes. I usually try not to bother cosplayers with photo's because of how already clustered they are with requests for that stuff... but had I known you were a forum member I totally would have stopped you and gotten some camera gold for this here thread
In all seriousness good job to all of you who cosplayed. Really fun and cool to see and I hope you all had a good time with it. Thanks to my new job I have access to plenty of tools so perhaps next year I'll make some sort of costume
I managed to find a picture of myself in each of my costumes!
Two were photo-booth things (The PAX XP one shown above, and the ForgedToFight one below) but the twitter link is someone who asked for my picture and then handed me his card so I could actually find the picture!
@Auxilius I saw you laying by your campfire in the section of hallway with the metal octopus statue near the skybridge on Friday.
I stood over you for a short while as the Green Power Ranger, but couldn't recall your forum handle, so I didn't say anything, you might have been napping.
Your costume looked awesome.
@SilverIceDragon Were you playing tabletop games on Saturday night in your armor without the helmet on somewhere around 8-10pm near the Eureka booth? (Tabletop area, side furthest from the food stalls)
If so, I was at the next table over playing board games as well! And your armor looks awesome in person! (If not, there was someone with a very similar costume to yours!)
I think the only person I really ran up to was @DanQ because I met him at East 2015, and I had to sign his jumpsuit again.
@MelSny We walked past each other at some point. (I have no idea where or when, but you were Ciri at the time)
@JonnyRuckus I saw you and your GhostBuster pals Sunday, I tried to follow behind you to say Hi, but the crowds made it difficult to catch up without people destroying my shoulder pads, so I couldn't keep up and gave up the chase.
I went as Cassie from Paladins and as a Warrior from World of Warcraft (in Vanilla/BC gear). Would love any photos, especially if you took a pic of Cassie when I had her hawk with me on Friday!

Yup, they were amazing.
I managed to get your Cassie in my set of Cosplay photos.

(Or at least, he will, once I get the last few things done tonight and tomorrow!)
