They'll probably shift from badly copying Marvel to badly copying Star Wars...Superman shows up in the last few seconds of the movie and doesn't say anything.
That trailer succeeded in getting me all the way hype for the Aquaman film, at least
Yeah between Arthur being the most fun part of the DCEU from that trailer alone and the director being the dude who did Furious 7 and has compared the movie to Indiana Jones Aquaman is the lone beacon of the DCEU for me

I didn't hate that trailer, but I can already tell the movie is overstuffed because they didn't do the individual films first

Agreed. I saw an image of Cyborg playing football and Flash with his dad in jail so it looks like there will be some flashbacks which is going to be WAY too much

They're really gonna keep pretending that Superman's not in it, huh
Which is hilarious because not even Henry Cavill is pretending he isn't in it. Its just in the trailers and posters.
But how will Superman be back? Will he be brought back by Darkseid or will he be back the way he was before, as a villain?

We know he used you. Humiliated you. Brainwashed you. Wound you up like a tin soldier and turned you loose against Earth. Cry me a river! On the outside chance that this isn't another one of his schemes, we have to take action. So I suggest you GET OVER IT!
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
That Justice League trailer preview image looks like they're in the cockpit of a Megazord.

Zack Snyder says Cyborg's origin is the heart of Justice League
Considering Cyborg's origin is lame as hell this is bad news
Yeah, the whole affair would seem like a much better idea if Cyborg weren't there

Given the Motherbox is gunna be Cyborg's movie origin, I don't think it's a bad call. It actually ties the MacGuffins in on a meaningful level. And on just a story economics level it reduces two storylines into one.

I mean It is exactly what Johns did in his run and it didn't work there,, on an emotional level, at all
I have even less confidence in Zack Snyder to make it actually work here
It makes sense from a storytelling perspective but from a "providing the emotional core of the movie" perspective pffffft

Confidence is one thing, but it's strictly speaking not a bad idea to tie a movie's story to a character's origins.
Especially with the character that general movie audiences don't know.

I'm not saying it is a bad idea to tie it into the story
What I am saying is that making it the emotional heart of the movie, which is what Snyder said, is a bad idea because Cyborg's origin has yet to actually be done in a way other than completely lame and bog standard and everything shown so far has it mimicking the New 52 retelling note for note.

yeah but you haven't seen how it will be done though

I don't have a ton of faith in it either.
But using Cyborg as a starting point is a good idea BECAUSE he historically is bland. Audiences don't have the preconceived notions of him to feel betrayed on. You only have room to improve on. He has a fairly human origin story to relate to. And you can pretty much do whatever you want with him.
And that his origin ties to the big bad helps a whole lot as well.

This is true! Maybe Snyder will pull it off
But given that it seems to be the New 52 version almost identically, and the last movie of Snyder's that had any actual emotional weight to it was Dawn of the Dead I am skeptical as all hell it will be anything good, personally

And I guess I don't think Cyborg's origin is any blander than loads of other superheroes. So taking care of it in a team up instead of getting his own movie seems smart on another level to me.
I am not, and did not, say featuring his origin was a bad idea
What I am not a fan of is making it, and Cyborg, the emotional core of the movie because I have literally never seen anyone say Cyborg was their favorite part of anything, myself included, and ideally the heart of your movie should be something that engages your audience and gets people invested
Like, the movie ain't out yet, they could totally pull it off and finally, make Cyborg work like DC has been desperately trying to do for 6 years at this point. But the pitch of "Cyborg is the heart of our film" makes me wary as all hell just on its own merit.

I dunno. Making the heart of the film the character that's all CG and literally doesn't have a heart seems perfect for Zack Snyder

I almost wish they had copied Morrison for Bruce's line there

They need to have Superman be controlled by Darkseid for some amount of time so they can use this quote:
Aquaman is always hype.

Oh my god they're going back to (at least visually) the DCAU for one more go
It's not a triangle. Either way, Babs gets dick.
.,,,
I would watch that movie

Oh so then it's 100% confirmed that they're ripping the story straight from the new 52 launch, minus Green Lantern being an idiot

Just because he's not in the movie doesn't mean he's not still an idiot.
