I love when people do that kinda stuff with video game music. "Same song but in the style of this game." Shovel Knight to Mega Man isn't the biggest of leaps though because the composer of the original MM did at least one track for SK, which incidentally is the BEST track.

Speaking of Nier, I'm going through the first game right now before Automata. There's a certain song that plays in a lot of story scenes, and if it were poor, or even just "pretty good," I would complain about it being overused.

so there's this particular song in Nier Automata with a different version in english and japanese due to the chorus you're meant to be able to understand (maybe it's not the only song with different language versions, I don't know yet if there's more with meant-to-be-understandable lyrics)

and I think the cadence of the english version sounds way better, which surprised me because it's a japanese game. I wonder if it's just a coincidence, or if they wrote the song in english first and japanese second.

The live version of the main theme of Breath of the Wild is very good, even if it loses some part of its dissonance.

It is. It's called "Fragments of Sorrow" on my soundtrack.
That's its endgame counterpart. This music plays in the tutorial parts at the beginning. Different keys.
