No way, F-Zero is the one that gives it away. Mother 3 didn't even exist the last time an F-Zero game came out, it actually has fans clamoring for it, and Nintendo already released Mother 1 since then. Mother 3 is a way more reasonable expectation.

So, I'm part way into Mario Xcom, and the gameplay is pretty fun.
The main thrust of the story seems to be that this one inventor girl's life is completely ruined by the Rabbids, so that's neat.

I'd definitely like to see an official release of Mother 3 but at the same time... You can play the perfectly good fan translation pretty easily. so I'm not really too bothered.

at this point I think whatever I had in me that allowed me to appreciate JRPGs is gone, they rarely hold my attention more than an hour or two anymore, and so if they were to actually release Mother 3 here, I'm pretty sure I'd buy it and then play a few hours and then never come back to it
Or a sequel. I'll even take Rune Factory if they cut out that sleep penalty and extend the day/night cycle so I'm not penalized when I'm trying to fight a boss because the game thinks I should go to bed.

Mother 3's actually pretty novel, especially compared to the other EarthBound games. It might surprise you, if you get the chance to play it
mother 3 is a story about capitalism being utilized as a weapon by the evil and the powerful to destroy an idyllic society and tear a family apart

Something I learnt the hard way playing XC2: enemies with knockdown can and will knock you off the edge if you don't position yourself carefully, and you'll lose the treasure chests on respawn. You can make so much money from salvaging that dying is only a brief frustration, but still.
