Help with Miracast. Only getting a black screen.

So I recently found out my tv is set up for miracast, and it's all built in for windows 10. Put my tv on the mode, pc and tv recognize each other, everything is going awesome and so easy!

Then there's a black screen on my TV. It's hooked up and connected, but it's only mirroring a black screen. Also, my display on my PC shrunk in, it's aspo ration almost looked 4:3. Adding that in case it clues anyone in to my problem.

Anyone have any clue what I'm doing wrong/need to do?

*edit* I tried my resolution settings. My laptop doesn't do 1080p, but i set it at 720p.

    Usually on a laptop there's a button on one of the F-keys to switch between displays. Maybe try hitting that and see what it does? Not sure how miracast handles the new "display" it sets up with the TV but it could be that...

    Was able to find the key, that setting was also in the bubble under the connection settings. Sadly it didn't help. I even set it up to display only on the second screen and it still was just a black screen.

    I bet it's going to be something simple.
