I own Godzilla Vs Megalon on tape.
Like, the non MST3K version.

Restating my love for PlutoTV again. Free TV and it has a 24/7 MST3K channel.

And to be fair to my past self.
I am pretty sure that VHS tape was part of a double feature box that included Godzilla 1985 as the other tape.

It was not! It was a two movie box set.
I bought all those other movies in singles.

Actually I think technically I recorded Ghidorah (Or Ghidrah) off when it aired on TV one time.

I like MST3K because they keep a very clean workspace.
They don’t leave a single joke on that writing room floor. They use it all

After watching quite a few of the Rifftrax available through Prime, I can't recommend any higher than Ghost House, where you learn all about Jim Dalen and his sister Tina Dalen, and their camper parked outside.
Yeah there's nothing quite like the riffs based on cheesy movies you legitimately enjoy.

I don't know sometimes they seem a bit..
Too mean? Like the Matrix rifftrax starts right off the bat with a "this movie sucks and I don't wanna watch it" joke and Avengers has got quite a few "who cares about Hawkeye/Coulson/insert a character from the movie here" jokes.

Nah, I feel the same way sometimes
It’s why I tend to avoid riffs for movies I genuinely enjoy, by anyone but mostly by Rifftrax

The Rifftrax riffs of most mainstream movies are awful. The ones on actual good mainstream films are baffling. I watched the Night of the Living Dead and Carnival of Souls ones and the NotLD one was just adding nothing while the Carnival of Souls one was just making me mad as they just kept trashing it.
As some of you might have guessed, we won't be making new seasons of the show for Netflix. However, I want you to know that we've had a wonderful time working with the Netflix team, and will always be grateful to them. After all, they gave us the opportunity to spend the past few years aboard the Satellite of Love, and made it possible for new generations to discover the joys of riffing cheesy movies with your friends.
I couldn't be more grateful or proud to our incredible cast and our wonderful crew for bringing this incarnation of the show to life, and hope that we'll get the chance to continue collaborating on MST3K as we enter our next chapter.
And, I'm pleased to confirm that The Return and The Gauntlet – along with a healthy selection of classic episodes – will continue to stream on Netflix, bringing some of the show's best episodes to cheesy movie lovers around the world.
Now, I know you might have questions about the future of Mystery Science Theater, but as you've seen over the last four years, we are just as dedicated to keeping MST3K alive as ever. And I want to remind you that there are still lots of options for us to explore in the years to come. This isn’t our first rodeo! So, while this might be the end of the first chapter of bringing back MST3K, don't worry: it's not the last chapter.
It had 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, but I dunno if we will ever see the internal Netflix data on how many people watched it or for how many episodes/% of every episode watched.
Netflix hasn’t been shy about culling anything they aren’t making under strict cost controls though. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was heavily watched but didn’t meet some absurdly high standard to be an “off-campus produced” show that didn’t get the axe.
I actually don't have Netflix, so it being a Netflix exclusive means I didn't watch it past the first season (which I Kickstarter-backed so they gave me those outside of Netflix). I wonder if they have any exclusivity requirements even after being not renewed. I wouldn't mind if I was able to watch it via Amazon Prime Video or something if they were able to make that an option, but it might not work if seasons 11 and 12 are locked behind some contract saying they're made for Netflix so have to stay Netflix. I don't know much at all about the behind the scenes workings of these deals.

I would imagine (though I may be talking out of my ass) that the Netflix metrics for what is “good” on their platform is heavily dependent on the concept of binging. If a show entices you to just keep on watching episodes then it’s better for them.
The sheer length of an MST3K episode basically prevents this. Most people would probably watch 1 or 2 in a row at a push. Compare that to basically watching an entire season of nailed it in one sitting. This is I suspect part of the reason the gauntlet was set up the way it was, to try and get those “watch throughs”
Netflix is pretty infamous for killing shows after two seasons since their business models benefits them just tossing up new shit. Unless you’re a Stranger Things or Bojack, you get 2-3 seasons at best.

God.
Damn.
But do you own the appropriate amount of Godzilla 2000?

I saw a live riff on Last Crusade that included the guy who plays Tom Servo in the new series and it was just about the best possible experience.
I wouldn't be able to watch a riff on, like, The Long Goodbye, or some other film I really respected.
I think the worst ones are the (mostly non-American) folk tale movies. It just feels like making fun of an ugly puppy. It's not his fault!
I definitely hate "ugh why are we even watching this" jokes. I dunno guy you tell me you're the one who wants me to tune in.
I have been stuck on Atlantic Rim for months.
Not even MST3k can make that movie watchable.
Get on the horn and invite a few friends to hang out and help you through it.

In short, capitalists gonna capitalist.
They are both available on disc now!
