guys calling each other grandma or grandpa seem interchangeable, in that gender is not too relevant. maybe a guy called grandma was baking cookies but the guy farting cauliflower clouds was called grandpa, with lots of overlap in the middle (e.g.: being shocked by offensive media, being physically unfit, being tech illiterate)

What's funny is that great-grandma or great-grandfather is rarely, if ever, used as an insult. It's too many syllables or generations or something.

What's funny is that great-grandma or great-grandfather is rarely, if ever, used as an insult. It's too many syllables or generations or something.
I think it's probably due to most everyone having met their grandparents, but very few people having met their great grandparents. Thus, there's not as much of a cultural concept of what great grandparents are like as there is of regular grandparents.

I think we can probably safely say that gendered language and its effects on men are not inherently relevant to gendered language and its effects on women (or, indeed, on the people using that language in a society that is in convulsions, even as we speak, over reproductive assumptions and concepts)
Reproductive assumptions and their consequences do not affect men at all in the same way that they do women (or even non-cis people who have to deal with uterine politics).
