Also there was a tabulation error in Winnipeg Center, apparently. Looks like it's going back to the NDP.

I think people are still - despite a lot of the results we're seeing - underestimating strategic voting.
I had people asking how big a deal vote splitting would really be and if they should vote red. This is in Halifax, where the vote has gone something like 40-30-15-15 with the CPC in 4th.
fucking idiot liberals, kicking wilson-raybould out is gonna end up electing a conservative in that riding
ugh i'm so mad
You got it upside down. Wilson-Raybould backstabbed the Liberals and gave Scheer his only win, which he almost rode to victory tonight, for her little independent hissy fit. I'm glad she lost. It sucks her seat went to the Cons, but given that her plan was to give the country to the Cons to keep her seat, it gives me small comfort she got a taste of her own medicine.

uhh ok?!
in any case she's back in the lead and as a independent offers absolutely no value to the parliamentary system, so good job liberals!
Pleasantly surprised at NS; I expected a lot more blue on the board this time around instead of the one riding that flipped. Super glad the cowboy hat they parachuted into Central Nova got obliterated.
New Brunswick's kind of gross right now. It's like a large chunk of the provincial media there is owned by an oil magnate or something..

New Brunswick also has a pretty entrenched divide of the part that supports the French part of it (and typically aligns with the LPC or Bloc where available), and the part that really hates the French part and votes against the more "French-friendly" parties.
Topically, can anyone tell me why NB hates the NDP so much?
British Columbia
Cloverdale-Langley City (Leaning CPC; 2nd LPC)
Port Moody-Coquitlam (Leaning NDP; 2nd CPC)
South Okanagan-West Kootenay (Leaning NDP; 2nd CPC)
Vancouver Granville (Leaning Ind [Wilson-Raybould]; 2nd LPC)

Do the Irvings own all of the Maritimes, or is it just Nova Scotia?

They've got a lot of presence in NS, but NB's the province where they can do things like prohibit criticising the US president in print media. Here the influence seems to be 'just' in a lot of economic/industrial things instead of stuff that overt.

Wilson-Raybould officially elected, Libs came in second.
The liberal in my riding actually won. That was unexpected. I knew he was fairly popular here but my understanding was he also sucked. I'll take it though. Pretty sound slapping down of the Con challenger too.
Got back from a long day of Scrutineering for the NDP where I emailed off copies of sequence sheets that are apparently called bubble sheets other places, knocking on doors asking if people planned to vote, and giving rides to the polling station, bought some blood orange vodka to relax at home while the results come in.

Please don't call it that
For God's sake
Hah, so much for the coin toss in South Centre. 44.4% over 29.9% so far and called for Liberal.
I'm OK with that. Burning one seat is worth it to get rid of her.

Perhaps I can interest you in my meager selection of pins?
Right now he's in 4th place behind the cons.
That's some tabulation error! The Green candidate there currently has 5% of the vote.
She must have shit herself when the results were first reported.

Where's that from?

JWR is marginally ahead in her riding. 25% of polls reporting.
Wilson-Raybould jumped ahead from 3rd place while I was typing.
CBC has wilson-raybould up by.... 17 votes.

Well my riding the Bloc is pulling out ahead of sneaked in by vote splitting to just plain winning.

Other than a straight progressive majority government, this is about the best outcome.
Committees and investigations being the major exception obv

Aye. The Cons not winning the seat is good and her getting nowhere near a position of power again is also good. Win-win.
