Update as I reach 2018 in Schlock Mercenary: it's very endearing that the put-upon fast food worker with a liberal arts degree ends up being the only crew member with the academic expertise necessary to solve a key part of the plot. This was not really something I expected from a sci-fi story that revolves around physicists and roboticists.
I'm very disappointed in ABBADON right now. My copy of Lancer hasn't shipped yet AND they're putting together a super ultra long update and taking the normal time per a page just because they think it is best for the story or something. I clearly am very upset with them because they aren't giving me their awesome creative work immediately.

the later arcs have struggled a bit to get the superintelligent AIs out of the plot-device-resolution business
it wasn't really clear to me why that bit needed a human either
