What restrictions did you go with
Restrictions are 11 days preisolation and no mass transit. Passenger cars only. At the event no masks, indoors ok.
11 days is the point at which 97.5% of cases present symptoms, so given our number of isolation groups and cases per county, it puts the event safety well past 99%. Ok I think.

No flights then, local friends only?
Yeah, no flights. One friend lives in Kentucky and will have to drive which sucks but the risks when flying are too hard to get a grip on. I couldn't find any good data to know if it was responsible or not.

My sister visited from Nevada in June and I hung out with my other sis and niece once or twice but other than that I have seen no friends since the before time
I see my GF weekly but we both take precautions. She has a small circle of friends she will see outside at places using masks and distancing.
I have had outdoor get together with my friend group usually all of us isolating beforehand for the week. Always distancing the best we can. Never going indoors. Masks are commonly worn when possible.

if it were me I would ask people to get a test and stay isolated until they get their results. If negative, they stay isolated until we meet up.
Also I would drive and get them so they don't take mass transit.
Also nothing is 100% safe. It is about levels of risk and willingness to take that risk. But having minimum levels like staying outdoors and wearing masks even then helps.
