I'm going to KFC embracing "gene sharing" with a Colonel Bucket.

There has to be a more pleasant way to extract genetic material from these monsters.
    ...
Yeah, that's also a weird mental image.

It’s a monster Hunter, so the murder is there.

What kind of device do they use for gene splicing in this universe? A wood chipper?

Just dropping the monster into a blender to get at its genes does not seem significantly less humane than spending half an hour chopping off its extremities so that you can carve up the carcass and make a hat.

What is this I don't even.

The unzipping makes me think of one of those dolls where you pull a string in their back and they talk. Or a magician pulling a long series of scarves out of their mouth.

I had a nightmare once where something like this was going to happen to everyone on Earth.
The dream didn't get to that point before I woke up, but... yeah.

Am I alone in finding the whole Monster Hunter setting far more unsettling with the presence of friendly monsters?

I need them to be godless killing machines, that must be culled en masse as only mass slaughter will keep them from annihilating humanity.

Or else we're just sorta dicks in the mainline games.
