I sort of love the fact the way to get the crowd to cheer for Cody is to have him save a wrestler known as The Bastard.
The key was having Cody actually DO something. Not get betrayed by his friend and then cut a long promo about how he solved racism so he's going to beat up his friend's protégé. Not get his ass beat and then cut a long promo about how sad he is that Malakai Black keeps kicking all of his associates in the head very hard. Good! He’s not winning it (PWG is real good about having title changes make storyline sense and with Super Dragon’s group looming that’s the obvious next plot) but he’ll help reestablish Bandido’s reign.
