Bought this last year, it didnt quite click with me right off the bat as I was just playing solo and it felt really.. grindy.. so I uninstalled. Just reinstalled again and now it clicks and I am loving the absolute shit out of the game.
FYI for those without Game Pass, this is on sale on Steam for about $10. I picked it up so I could play on the Steam Deck. I'm very late to the party with this game but I'm having a great time so far. I played gunner for a bit then switched to scout. I should've left scout for last since it's gonna be hard to pull myself away from this class. If anyone is still playing or wants to get some co-op going let me know!
God, this week's EDD is brutal, glad I was able to finally beat it before the reset. Took me five attempts. On the fourth one a fucking nemesis spawned on stage 3, which I'd have just assumed was tied to the deep dive seed. Was bracing for it on the fifth and final attempt, but I guess we just got real screwed by RNG on the 4th.

Last week we announced our next upcoming DLC - the DECONTAMINATOR PACK - and as usual we’ve been following along on all your feedback in the wake of it. Turns out a good chunk of you didn’t feel it was up to our usual standards - in particular the titular Weapon Framework itself, and the accompanying Paintjob. We had a bit of a nagging feeling ourselves that this new pack wasn’t up to the standards required of a DLC pack, and reading your comments confirmed this.
Frameworks and Armors are peculiar entities, and what might look super cool to some, might read as boring to others - and especially in the case of DLC packs, we are learning that more bling tends to be received better. You’re putting down good money for these items, and you want them to stand out - we hear you!
So, in order to make this a DLC worth adding to your collection, we decided to tweak the Weapon Framework, and update the Paintjob. We’ve focused on making the guns stand out a lot more with some brand new attachments, adding vials and digital displays to lean more into the “Decontaminator” theme.
And don’t worry, those of you already cracking your knuckles to tell us you liked the old Paintjob: The Paintjob you saw in the first trailer will be added to the next Performance Pass, because dang it, we really liked it!
Anyway, here’s a first view of the reworked DLC pack:
Only been a few missions with them so far, but I'm not sure how to deal with springtails. Their grab will still hit you if you're strafing. Maybe you're supposed to turn and sprint to dodge it? But they attack pretty suddenly and at a pretty rapid rate, so if that works it seems like you'd have to basically give up on fighting the horde to do it. They're pretty tanky, so you can't just burst them down. Armor break speeds up killing them but it's still not like, "just burst them down" speed, even with that. They don't deal damage with the grab but they fucking pull you into the middle of swarms, I'd rather it be a hitscan spitter than that.
The revamped Hazard 5 difficulty is INSANE. Expect to be constantly fighting with no breathing room.

After a few weeks of the new stuff, it definitely feels like anything with rockpox in Season 4 should be considered an extra .25 - .5 on the HAZ level.

Haven't tried the latest season but the early rock pox of an intermittent seemed highly deadly as the hazard level increased so I can only imagine with all the new dangers they throw at miners.
it was a little annoying at the start of the season when teammates want to tackle the rockpox abomination right off the gate. People can't wait and just die

The multiple new ways to get infected lead to more situations where you're rooted and that's usually when the exploders roll up and say hello.
Engineer / Mag Pellet Shotgun + Inferno Breach Cutter has been a good option on my end.

Anyone experience more bugs since this last update? Played for a couple hours and I had my game freeze up twice. The folks I was playing with had to then re-join since it dropped them. One of the folks I was playing with kept getting a "falling through the floor" bug. He'd leave and re-join, but same thing. After a short time, he'd just fall and die. Each revive would then have him fall again.
We've been playing this since early access, and it's always been really stable for us.
I only picked it up a couple weeks ago, so I can't speak historically, but I've run into a couple of those. I just left the game though and went somewhere else and it stopped. The falling through the floor one was especially annoying though. Revive, fall, splat, repeat. I chalked it up to a bad connection/host, as I've also a couple times joined games that were staggering constantly or rubber banding the absolute shit out of everything nonstop to the point where it was unplayable.
I don't know whether to love or hate the missions that are like:
Double XP!
Just kill three dreadnoughts.
...And it's a cave leech cluster.
......And also these two bulk detonators we spawned with the twins.
.........And also a lithophage meteor.
............And also a cargo crate.
...............And also a Bet-C.
..................And also this corruptor.
.....................And here's a room with fucking five brood nexus spawners.
Just needed a Nemesis and Omen to complete the deck.
I just had a relatively normal mission. Annoying drop pod spot so Driller was doing the normal 50m tunnel... when a bulk detonator spawns in the fucking tunnel and nearly obliterates the entire team instantly.
I think the best games are the chaotic ones that you save from the brink of defeat. Luckily the game is pretty good at getting to that point automatically with events and the missions i lose nowadays usually is result of my own hubris, which is great. I end up back at the station, chug a beer and get ready to go again
I dunno. It feels satisfying, but a lot of those also go completely south and end up really frustrating because you get so little from a loss, and sometimes it's just RNG completely fucking you, which is dispiriting as fuck. The current EDD, for example, is a nightmare in so many ways, especially the bulk detonators spawning on a mule recovery fire biome. Oops. The whole area you're forced to stand in is now on fire. Or I tried to do the first part solo for the blank core originally since I've been able to easily handle that since I started, and got three stingtails spawned while fighting the twins the first go, stuck under a pair of goo bombers and then pulled into a pit by a stingtail during the escape on the second, and swarmed by random tri jaws from behind during the dreadnought fight which took off three lives the third time.
tl;dr
Able to opt-out of season 4 stuff after completing the battlepass and set game to 'non-season' (Lithophage corruption zone on map turned off, Lithophage Outbreak warning set to same chance as any other warning)
Nerf to rockpox in general
Nerf to stingtails
Nerf to septic spreaders
New weapon exp for using weapons, but only unlockable is weapon skins (4 per weapon)
Bug fixes

The ability to 'beat' the lithophage, so to speak, would be nice.

Update Nov 16. Consoles two weeks later. Everything mentioned above, plus making big glyphids more vulnerable to electric. Some buffs to various weapon mods and overclock reworks as well.
Giving spinning Death an auto-guide like rocket tracking? Sign me up.
I wonder if that's a different overclock entirely. I feel like spinning death is already one of the most common Breach Cutter overclocks I see on Engies.

Yeah I bet it's a roll control buff. An OC that you probably forgot about until just now.
