    I'm a little confused... Don't people also get older every year?

    So if the magic number is 33 and all the 33-year-olds die, then next year the magic number will be 32, but the 32-year-olds will now be 33. Do they still die?

    The day the number changes, everyone over 33 dies. If you're 32 and 364 days, you still live another year.

    All that matters is how old you are the day the number counts down.
