Gamer nerd tattoos aren't bad because they're tattoos of videogames, they're bad because only gamers get them. That's an important distinction, I think.

so who should get them, people who have never played video games?
a more important distinction would be between gamers and fat nerd slobs

You are both reading too much into this and not enough.
I haven't liked anything enough to brand myself with it. I mean times change, what if someone got a Spyro the Dragon tattoo or something back when that was big? They'd look stupid now.
My brother has a massive cross tattooed on his back. He got it at college and has had it for nearly a year now and my parents have not found out about it. I think he looks absolutely retarded with some giant fuck-off cross on his back like he's some kind of religious badass. At least I know that christianity won't be totally out of style when he's old.

but getting a spyro tattoo would always have been retarded
it would have been like getting a crash bandicoot tattoo or a banjo-kazooie tattoo

and here it is, the biggest flag displaying a complete mis-understanding of tattoos.

1.) You never, ever, EVER, get a tattoo with anyone but YOU in mind. For once in your life, you should be getting something that is entirely personal and meaningful to you, and you alone.
2.) Tattoos are not a "fad", they are not "stylish", they are not "accessories". They are something that carries intense meaning to you. If you get a tattoo and honestly wonder "what will other people think?", just stop.
You're doing it wrong, and honestly, as far as I'm concerned, you have missed the bus.
My pieces are very nerdy. They are very blatant. BUT, they are very important to me. Video games got me through a lot of really shitty and painful times as a kid, and a lot of those times, I was physically unable to do anything but play games. So do I give a good god damn wether or not someone thinks my sleeve is cool?
Nope. Don't give a fuck. So if that dude felt that strongly about Spyro the Dragon, fuckin A. I'll buy him a beer and give him a high five.

don't be so hard on yourself
I'm sure you can still live a moderately normal life

I need a naruto headband and silk DBZ shirt.... STAT!!
Well first I'd have to not mind needles
But it would be something bitchin like the Batman symbol right across my chest
Waitaminute
Go back
What was that last part?
No, I mean like my actual face tattoo'd onto my face, but like a cm smaller in everyway.
yeah that's totally bitchin and not something terrible that you would regret in thirty years

This is dumb
a better idea is a tattoo of your face, full-size, on your chest
then you could take off your shirt and be all "peek-a-boo"
Maybe he likes to D.A.N.C.E.
or something

Well it was going to be the Green Lantern symbol but I was like no calling my car "The Lantern" is enough
I have never seen these
it's pretty slick
