Hrm, for some reason I thought the actual date was 6/20.
In any case, job searching has interfered with my planning, so signups will go up this weekend, and the game proper should start on Monday or Tuesday, if that's okay.
Nerissa and I would like to invite somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 players to play Senators in the Roman Senate. Hannibal has invaded Gaul, and Carthaginian spies have been discovered in the Senate!! The hunt for these traitors is on. Of course this is an excellent chance for various factions to off their competition. Can the Senators ferrett out the Carthaginians before they decimate themselves to the point of collapse?

A use of 'decimate' that is not only contextually accurate but probably literal.
Given that we're supposed to alternate Phallas and non-Phallas, and that there are no other non-Phallas in the list, that sort of gives you a free choice of where you want to be in the list, or when you want to start your game. I've put you after tuxkamen's game, on the hypothesis that you'd like a couple of months to prepare. Is that ok?
OK, would like to alter our (being nerissa and narvinye) game setting a tad. Set in the Galactic Senate (Star Wars) during the clone wars, after the rise of Darth Vader.
Chancellor Palpatine has called a special session of the Senate. It seems some Senators are secretly allied with the traitorous Jedi. Of course, different factions of the Senate see this as a great time to off their opposition. One wonders if the good Chancellor is counting on this... Can the allies of the Jedi do enough damage to the Chancellor's cabal before the entire Senate is laid ruin?
I have an idea for a phalla, but I would greatly appreciate a cohost or some folks to help me out.
Specifically, of the phallas I've seen and enjoyed most, I admire the works of LaOs, Thorgot, and VisibleHowl. However, if anyone is willing to help, I'd appreciate it.
Not signing up just yet because I'm pretty sure I don't have the balance right and I'll be out of the country from 7/23 til 8/6.
Hey, is there anyone that doesn't play in Phallas anymore but would be able to give advice on setting one up? I will need to run my mechanics by someone to make sure they don't suck but I don't want to ask someone who might actually want to play...

I can help you out, Medo.
I think I might enjoy Hosting/behind the scenes more than actual playing, and there's always games in CF if I do still want to play, so missing out in D&D isn't a big deal.
Also, I think robothero has mentioned that he's pretty much done playing in favour of hosting, so you could bend his ear too, if you wanted.

If you'd want another person's opinion, I'm willing to take a look at your mechanics and the like and offer comments or feedback.

Okay cool, thanks guys.
It probably won't be for a little while but I'll keep you all in mind.

I'll probably need a second look at mechanics on my game in a little bit. It's still way too complicated at the moment though.
Oh, and I see that VH's game is over, which means yours will be next Savant. Can you do this second look over the mechanics in the next two weeks and be ready to go around the 22th or so?

I should be, although if push comes to shove I may have to change my game theme. I have mechanics for another phalla in mind that I'm pretty sure are workable and straightforward, but the setting is rather generic. Dwarf Fortress is so complicated and I'm still trying to figure out how I can make appropriate vigs within the setting that work in practice.

You guys have no idea how much I'm wanting to run a game now. I do this with actual D&D too. I'll play as a PC, and I quickly lose interest, yet I'll also get the strong urge to run a game. Luckily, Phalla is limited to a week or so.
I'm just hoping I can get the game run before January, as I'll be transferring (Navy) somewheres around there :P
visiblehowl, had great fun in your game!! *hat's off*

Quite a few (myself included) get bitten with the Hosting bug and can find it's more enjoyable. Things move slower in D&D due to the two week break between games, but you'll also find that you move through the list quicker than expected because people aren't ready ahead of you.
This is me, officially signing up for my miniphalla (25 people as of right now), that I would like to begin around August 8th, and can not begin before August 6th. LaOs has graciously volunteered to tinker with the mechanics and possibly cohost.

Not to be picky, but I don't know if 25 players qualifies as a "mini"... Irene's mini Phasion Phalla had 15 players. Then again, regular games have 40 players, so you're kind of in-between...

I want to put myself back on the waiting list, but I think that's taboo seeing as how my game hasn't exactly ended yet.

Minis are ~25 in CF, but ~15 in D&D.
stormwind's is a Mini by the standards of most players, but technically it's not "Mini" enough to be able to slot into the "Mini" D&D slot. It can, however, fit into the CF mini slot, whereby up to two can run concurrently with any Main game.

Well, there's no official rule on what constitutes a mini here. Just precedent set by Irene's games. So I guess we can expand our unofficial definition of mini to 25...
Scheduling guidelines: We try to alternate Phalla games and Non-Phalla games, to keep people from being bored. There's a two-week break after each game. Mini-games (10 to 15 players max) can run during that break. Concurrent games are not allowed except in exceptional cases approved by Elki, which usually involve non-disruptive and very long games with few active players.

The theme will be Mars.
Oh yes.
Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars, to be exact
It shall be about religion, and scientologists, with cameos by Jesus and friends.
It also cannot take place anytime between 7/17 and 8/15.
Also, it's looking to have around 30-35 players, though that may change.

Or possibly exactly that. I haven't decided yet.

Kudos.

Deal!
EDIT: And I've started a list of volunteer Phalla reviewers in the OP.
EDIT2: "Volunteer Phalla Reviewers" sounds like the name of a porn movie.

How far does the list go?
I had a place on the list a long time ago but I had to give it up due to school = /
Also, sign me up for a phalla. I'm unsure of the theme.
Almost, but not quite.

Or do you mean in another subforum? If so, that's ok, we're a separate and independent list.
EDIT: Also, I assume you mean for a Phalla...
Etrian Odyssey. (I started it in D&D after all)
And yeah, I'm pretty sure I'd try to do an actual Phalla this time, since I can usually end those in a decent span of time. :P
